Ray's Steak and Cheese Redux
I'll definitely give it a go. I did not get a chance to try it the first time around. The comments I heard about it were that it was very different from a cheesesteak, so do not expect that going in.
Inn at Little Washington
It is a great restaurant, but it is hard to live up to the hype. If you eat there and spend a night at the inn you will spend a ton of money. I'm not sure any dining experience is worth it. I also felt a little cramped in the room facing the garden. Still, I might return for a very special occasion. The setting and the food make you feel like you are in a special place.
Mexican in DC
For good tacos and burritos, District Taco in Arlington is top notch. It used to be just a taco truck but now has a real restaurant to go to. Ask for corn tortillas for an authentic experience. The taco trucks still exist and are often present in DC proper. They do not have much beyond tacos and burritos, but they do them well
Fish Tacos?
Try the new tackle shop in Bethesda. The one in Georgetown had a good fish taco.
Driving to Philly : Where to eat lunch on the way?
Try Tony Lukes in Philly. Great Hoagies, Cheesesteaks, and roast pork sandwiches. Only a few minutes from the LInc, the Oregon Ave. Exit.
Best place to eat and/or listen to great music.
Try Iota in Calrendon. Good music and pretty good food. More indie bands than high profile groups. A good scene.
Breakfast at National Harbor, Maryland
Wow, so much hatred for National Harbor. I was just there for the day a few weekends ago and it was worth a trip. No, I'm not going to be traveling there to go to dinner, but there are a lot of shops and restaurants and it was a fun outing. It is a bit artificial and convention like but a lot of new communities start out that way. Trust me, this place is not going anywhere. They are building a children's museum, which will make it a good family destination. As for breakfast, I think, besides the hotels, the only option is Ketchup, which has a nice diner vibe.
ISO Peking Duck
I have to agree with Tom Siestama that PGI is no longer great. It is still decent just not top notch. He may have been a little harsh but he was right in saying it has slipped. Ordered the duck about 4 months ago and it was just okay. I'd be happy to try Chiangs.
District Taco
Went to the District Taco restaurant in Arlington for the first time yesterday. Very crowded but things ran smoothly. Try the Tacos al pastor. Delicious! They have Boylans soda on tap and a great fixings/salsa bar. Very family friendly but go at off hours to avoid the crowds. The best Mexican food in the area that I have tried.
Fogo de Chao? [moved from Washington D.C. & Baltimore board]
It is the same as it was when it opened. A lot of salty meat and a good salad bar. If you like being "manly" and do not mind the meat sweats this is the place,
Salmon burgers?
I second the trader joe's patties, although I like them with some condiment (mayo makes them delicious) as opposed to au natural.
Eatbar - Any good?
Good atmosphere with decent, but not great, food. Great for a bite with a glass of wine/beer, but definitely not a "foodie" experience.
Scrapple
I'm not sure about the most authentic, but I grew up in Philly eating Habersett scrapple. That spelling may be off but that was the basic name. It was delicious.
Place to watch Sunday football with good beer? (Near Dupont if possible)
Actually, food at Cleveland Park Bar and Grill is decent, for a sports bar.
Place to watch Sunday football with good beer? (Near Dupont if possible)
Nellie's on U street is a good sports bar if you do not mind the fact that it is gay friendly. Buffalo Billiards and Lucky Bar are also decent places to watch a game in south Dupont. The problem really is that sports bars and good food do not really mix very well. Churchkey in logan circle shows the games at the bar and has good food/beer. U street and logan circle are both pretty close to dupont. Good luck.

Arlington's Asian Kitchen Sushi Delivers
I tried the relatively new Asian Kitchen for the first time last week. This is the place on Lee Highway in the location that restaurants go to die. I got delivery and ordered sushi. I am a bit of a sushi snob and was pleasantly surprised by its quality. This is no Kushi, Sushi Taro, or Kaz, but it is decent sushi out in the burbs and they deliver. I have yet to try their Chinese items but will definitely be going back. As far as I know, this is the only decent Sushi place in Arlington that delivers. If there are others, please let me know. They also delivered to my house which is ten minutes from the restaurant, near the S. Arlington border. A good addition to N. Arlington.

Sunday Brunch in DC
Perry's is a good idea but not for anyone who is shy. They may literally rip your boyfriend's shirt off, so be aware. It is very fun, though, and the food is generally good.
Brickskeller Closing?
I I will miss it too, although the idea of it was always better than the reality.
CityZen - Unimpressed
Having lived in NY I think you are correct in that the Zagat ratings are relative to the area. City Zen is one of the best in the DC area but would probably be ranked slightly lower in NY. That being said, I think that City Zen can be great at times, so you probably just went on an off night. For the wow factor, I would try Komi or Minibar. They are unique and excellent experiences (if you can get in).

Sports bar for NFL football in DC area?
Althought they are not in DC proper, Crystal City Sports pub in Crystal City is right off the metro. Summers is off the Courthouse Metro, and Mr. Days and Hard Times are close to the Clarendon metro. I have to say that the Crystal City Sports pub is one of the best in the region but gets very crowded on game day.
Restaurants that live up to the hype
I agree. Georgetown cupcake is good but Bakeshop is better.
Best Spot for a Lone Female Business Traveler
Rays the Classics in Silver Spring should do the trick.
That Cursed Place on Lee Highway
Maybe if they actually put a good place in there it would succeed. I think the location and parking, while not incredible, are good enough to support a good restaurant. Tap and Vine was a good concept but the food was pretty average. Besides the truffle fries and good beer selection, there was no reason for me to go back.
Casual seafood place in DC
Oceanaire is not casual and it is overly expensive as well.
Casual seafood place in DC
Tackle Box in Georgetown fits the bill, but just because it is casual does not mean it is cheap.
Frozen Custard
Dairy Godmother in the Del Mar section of Alexandria makes some very good custard. This is the real stuff and they will mix it in with a homemade fruit cobbler when available.
Best Sushi in Arlington
Unfortunately, Arlington is not the best place for sushi in the area, although there are some pretty decent choices. Endo in Clarendon is pretty good sushi. Also Matuba, on Columbia pike, is good. I would choose both of these over Asahi, although they can all be hit or miss at times. There is a new place, Sushi Rock, opening across the street from the former Dremos that may have promise.
Vidalia or Somewhere Else?
I just had a very good dinner at Vidalia, not table 24. Never been to Plume but they are obviously apples and oranges when it comes to types of food.
