I need good food, not overly expensive for three nights in downtown Montreal and 2 in Quebec City. Never been before - enjoy all cuisines.
oyster bars etc in St. John's, Nfld?
I live in the city and some of the best places to eat are the pubs and taverns, two are hidden in laneways just up from Water Street. Duke of Duckworth - great brunches and very typical of an Irish Pub atmosphere and The Ship - again great food and better prices. If you are around in the evenings they host great local music too.
The Gypsy Tea Room, Olivers, and Nautical Nellies serve good food at good prices as well. If you like vegetarian, or not, The Sprout on Duckworth is worth a visit and the wine is inexpensive as well.
