Boulder, CO

One of my 14 year old daughters and I will be in Boulder Memorial Day weekend, which is going to be packed with activities, I'm told. I'm looking for a Saturday night restaurant that is casual, but different than the NYC world she is used to. Thanks

Suggestions for Hartford South/Glastonbury area, please

Oh, yes. If there is a French restaurant you'd suggest in the Glastonbury/Hartford area, that would be our first choice. Thank you.

Suggestions for Hartford South/Glastonbury area, please

My husband and I will be staying overnight on a Saturday in a Hilton Inn in the Hartford South/Glastonbury area. We'd like to celebrate a childless evening in a tasty (not necessarily fancy) manner. As we are NYers and totally clueless about the area, might you have a suggestion so I can make a reservation? Thanks so much.

VIetnamese food in Chicago

Any suggestions for a low-key (read, family-friendly, not fancy-schmancy) Vietnamese restaurant in Chicago, preferably with killer pho and bo luc lac? Thanks.

Moules Frites in Chicago?

Hopleaf is the first place I heard about regarding moules frites, but since, as I said, half of us are twelve years old, the web site made it clear that as of now we'd be persona non grata. Thank you for the other suggestions. We can't wait.

Moules Frites in Chicago?

We will be in Chicago for the Columbus Day weekend, and we are a family that craves mussels and french fries by the bucket (this includes our 12-year-old twins). Suggestions, please!
Thank you.

Restaurants in Washington, D.C.

Thank you so much for Againn. Everything about the place was spot on. We had what I called the "Pig Platter" with pate, pork belly and ham, which was unbelieveable, the shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and ended with sticky toffee pudding served with stout ice cream. The service was terrific, and all four of us were delighted with our selections. Thanks, Steve.

We also went to Granville Moore for their mussels and were blown away by the place. It was a good eating trip. Thanks!

Between Highland Mills, NY and New Milford, NJ

We're two couples looking for a midway point to have dinner on a Saturday night. A steakhouse would be great, as would a terrific barbeque place. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much.

Restaurants in Washington, D.C.

My family will leave NYC to join the hoardes of vacationers in Washington, D.C. the third week of February. We're staying at 900 10th street NW, which, I believe is near the Convention Center. Suggestions for Vietnamese? Good Italian, Any "MUST GO TO" places, not exorbitant, for a family of foodies? (We will have a car.) Thanks.

Moules Frites Family

We are planning a trip to Montreal in February. My husband, twin ten-year-old girls, and I are moules frites fanatics. Suggestions, please! Thanks

Newburgh, NY and Environs

We'll be staying up near Woodbury Commons (Highland Mills) for a couple of weeks. Please don't make me eat at Gasho of Japan. Do you know of any good Indian/Mexican (not Tex-Mex)/ South American, ANYTHING that's cheapish, but real and good somewhere in the Hudson Valley region--Middletown, Goshen, all the way to Newburgh.. Please, no fusion, no wine bars...anyplace that will make me miss Queens.

Thank you so much. (My kids might not thank you, but they'll learn!)

Talking Tongue

Having seen the recipe for tongue with capers and cornichons on the NY Times web site, I'm ready to give it a go. So, where to purchase a 3-4 lb. fresh beef tongue in Manhattan?
Thanks.

Singapore Shaved Ice

My friends and I are addicted to Singapore Shaved Ice. For a couple of years, we've gone to a place on Mott, Singapore Cafe, and have been very happy there. Unfortunately, the last two times we've come in (on off hours when there were only, like, three other tables filled), the host has made comments about us coming only for dessert (although the hostess, in all fairness, always greets us with a wave and a smile). Now, the truth of the matter is we go there after our Vietnamese sandwich fix and have no desire to eat anything there but the aforementioned dish, and we don't want to be uncomfortable about it. This made us realize we need a Singapore Shaved Ice back-up in Manhattan. Any suggestions?

Fried Chicken Joint on First Avenue in the 90s

I overheard some folks rave about an unassuming place on First Avenue somewhere between 90th and 96th that serves up what they claimed to be "the most excellent" fried chicken. Anyone know what they're talking about and can vouch for the claim? Thanks.

Bulgarian Feta Cheese

Some years ago I could purchase terrific Bulgarian Feta Cheese at the West Side (I think it was called) market on Broadway between 110th and 111th. Since it disappeared--the store, I mean--I've been thwarted in my quest to find the stuff. Would someone please tell me where I can purchase it in Manhattan?
Thanks

Niagara Falls in February

Wineries, not so much, thank you. But I would LOVE some information about restaurants in Niagara on the Lake. I hear that is a beautiful place. Thank you, also, for recommendations you've already mentioned..

We are headed for the Canadian side of Niagara Falls mid-February. Any restaurant suggestions for the family, especially Vietnamese? Chinese? Italian? Anything good and not chain-related, please; we have almost a week of chowing down to plan for. Thanks.

Portuguese dining in Newark

A threesome of dedicated eaters are planning on a trip to Newark to explore Portuguese dining and shopping. Where shall we go? (The luncheon trip is scheduled for this Wednesday.)We'd rather Portuguese rather than Spanish, okay?

Thanks so much.

Midtown East Dinner plans

I have friends coming into town this weekend, they are staying at The Waldorf. About six of us will be gathering to dine Saturday night. Any recommendations of a good food, not exhorbitantly priced restaurant would be appreciated. Spicy might or might not work for all (there will be gastroenterologists among us), but we'd like to avoid hotel food or anything else overpriced and generally blah. Thanks.

Hidden Treasures in the Jewelry District?

Three serious eaters are going to be on West 47th street in the morning and would like to find a gem of a place open for lunch, not the usual theater district ho-hum joints. Any place you'd like to share?

Noshing near Knoebels?

We're headed out to the old-time Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA (near Bloomsburg, Danville, I think not so far from Harrisburg), and I'd like to know if there are any good, local, inexpensive, non-chain restaurants my family of four can frequent in that area(twin eight-yar old girls, and their parents).

Thanks.

Tickets for Saturday evening to see "History Boys," with a friend visiting from Chicago; and we're looking for the best sushi bar to start off the evening, one near 235 West 44th Street. Suggestions, please?

Thanks

Kosher restaurants around Lancaster, PA

We are going to Willow Valley Resort in Lancaster this August and will be joined for a couple of days by some friends who keep kosher. I understand there is at least one good kosher restaurant in the area. Could you clue me in?

Thanks.
