Two dinners in Atlanta

I'm not a big fan of Buckhead Diner; it's rather plain. The other two should be fine. Depending on what you're looking for you might also consider pied de cochon (french, and open 24/7!) or Dante's (fondu), both of which I really like. Of course there are also numerous steak houses around there.

Roadtrip '08 - pt. 1 [Georgia to Virginia]

If you like Korean BBQ you might try Hae Woo Dae on Buford Hwy. in Atlanta. Also, Nuevo Laredo Cantina in Atlanta has been rated best mexican here for about the last decade. I'm a big fan of both.

ATL - Benedetti's Closing

Thanks, all. I will certainly have to try Calavino's and Nino's. A rec. from another store owner says a lot about both places in my opinion.

ATL - Seasons 52 Review?

Anyone been to Seasons 52? I know it's a chain and that's pretty much why I haven't been yet but I noticed it's the most popular on open table and got curious. And reviews or simple comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
Philip

ATL - Benedetti's Closing

As those of you in Atlanta may or may not know, Benedetti's (Italian) in Decatur is converting to a pizza-only format. I realize it wasn't exactly fine dining and yes, I've eaten at and liked Sotto Sotto but does anyone have any suggestions for small (possibly even shady) hole-in-the-wall italian places around Inman/Candler Park/Decatur? I really loved the vibe in Benedetti's and am hoping to find a suitable replacement in the 'hood.

Thanks,
Philip

best creme brulee in Atlanta

I generally prefer my homemade creme brulee so I am somewhat picky when it comes to places that I will suggest. Also, I tend to prefer a thicker creme that has had about 24 hours to set up in the fridge after cooking. I prefer the smoother custard-like texture this way. That said, my favorite creme brulee in Atlanta would probably be at Babette's Cafe on N. Highland. The website is http://www.babettescafe.com/

Good luck!

Has anyone been to Ibiza or P'cheen in Atlanta?

I live in the apartments above P'Cheen and go there once every couple of weeks or so. They have a good selection of belgian and microbrew beers that you may have not tried before as well as all the standard stuff. The drinks aren't the cheapest in town but they aren't very expensive either

The scene is pretty laid back. Most weekends there's a DJ with world/funk/groove type music. The music isn't usually too loud to converse over and rarely is there any dancing; mostly sitting around and talking. The crowd tends to be 25-35 and perhaps a little more, err should we say "refined" than the Virginia Highlands frat boy crowd and not as pretentious as the buckhead crowd.

As for the food, the burger and fish and chips are always good. Other stuff seems hit or miss. Pommes frites and calamari are pretty good as well.
