Wanted: Banana Cream Pie!
My mom is coming to visit and just LOVES banana cream pie. When she would visit me in NYC we would go out for dessert just to eat banana cream pie at her favorite place. I can't remember seeing banana cream pie on any dessert menues but i would love to take her somewhere that has it. It could be for a full dinner or just the dessert.
Please help me find some delicious banana cream pie in seattle!
Need valentine's day reccomendation
Chez Shea looks great but is all booked. There are still reservations for both Anchovies & Olives and How to Cook a Wolf. I've never been to either but both look pretty good. any advice on choosing between the two?
Need valentine's day reccomendation
I'm trying to find a romantic spot for valentine's day. I'm looking for something a little different/unique with a late (9pm) seating that's around $ 50-75 per person. I've seen a few places offering special menus but nothing stood out and a few were too expensive. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Any type of food is okay.
thanks.
Losing interest in Iron Chef America
I've become a big fan of Chopped! 4 chefs competing, one eliminated after each round, an a bunch of weird ingredients. It's much more exciting and interesting to watch the successes and failures of more average chef faced with a challenge!
Any Good Oyster Bar Happy Hour places in Seattle???
can't comment on anywhere else but I'm a big fan of Elliott's. The staff is nice and the other happy hour food is pretty good. However, the oysters used to be 50 cents at 3pm and have now gone up to 75 cents; trying somewhere else with a better selection at $1 per oyster might be a smart plan.
looking for a place to buy a variety of champagne
There are a lot of places in town with great wine selections but I haven't found one with more than a few champagnes. I am especially looking for lesser known labels and bottles under $30, which do exist! Other french sparking wines (Crémant) are also good but I'm not a fan of cava or spumante.
thank you for any suggestions!
Where to find fabulous Mexican Food
el puerco lloron off western on the pike street hillclimb by pike place market. it's the most delicious, most authentic mexican restaurant i've been to in seattle.
Burlesque at el gaucho's pampas room??
Has anyone been or heard anything about it? is it any good?
foodie friend in town for one night only!
He doesn't eat seafood which makes it a little harder but we have narrowed it down to:
harvest vine
cantinetta
restaurant zoe
mistral kitchen
any thoughts? we also have a party of 8!
thanks!
Cheap, good hot wings in Seattle
Wings at Blue Star in Wallingford (N 45th and Stone Way N) are large, juicy, and just the right amount of spicy. Happy hour (4-6pm?) gives you 6 wings for $3. 12 for ~ $8 otherwise.
What's seattle's best steakhouse?
Looking for a classic steakhouse to get good dry aged steaks and martini's. What's the best? I'm afraid Daniel's is overrated and overpriced (though i know a good steak is expensive) and Ruth Chris is a chain I have doubts about.
Thanks for the help!
[SEA] Looking for Root Beer on tap!
Looking for one of our many local breweries that makes its own root beer but haven't been successful.
Does anyone know of a place you can get root beer on tap?
Looking for opinions on Tilth
The menu's look good and I like the casual, homey decor but I haven't heard anything from anyone who's actually been there. Would love some opinions from people who have eaten there.
Thanks!
Best Seattle Steakhouse?
Looking for a good old-fashioned steakhouse for a thick juicy new york steak and perfect manhattan to have for thanksgiving dinner.
Where's the best place to get a steak around here? Prefer Seattle, but eastside OK too.
Nice restaurants in Bothell/Woodinville
Have been looking for some nice restaurants in the bothell/woodinville area without much success. I've read a little about Preservation Kitchen and it looks good but am looking for some input from someone who's actually eaten there.
Anyone have any other ideas for interesting restaurants in that area?
SEA - Looking for best traditional sushi
I am looking for the best, most traditional sushi in Seattle or eastside. Price is no object. I want the kind of place that serves only sushi/sashimi, not ridiculous rolls with spicy mayo and cream cheese, where they cook and serve the guts of a baby abalone after you eat the flesh, where the rice is slightly warm and the fish cool, where omakase starts with sashimi and maybe gives me something i've never had before. Maybe this is too much to ask for and I'm hoping seattle can deliver but I've yet to find what I'm looking for. Please Help!
[SEA] Late Night Dinner
Friends arrive Friday night at Sea-Tac at 10:30pm and I'm looking for someplace nice to take them to a late night dinner since they're only in town for 3 days. Is 13 Coins worth it? Where else serves a good dinner after midnight?
I'm at a total loss for ideas. They're staying downtown.
Best Seattle McCormick's Choice?
I have a $20 Dinner Certificate to one of the McCormick restaurants and am curious which may be the best choice for the value.
My choices are:
McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant
M&S Grill
McCormick & Schmick's Harborside
McCormick's Fish House
Spenger's Fresh Fish Grotto
McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant
I know it's all chain and probably mediocre but I've never been to one before so I figure I'll give it a try!
Thanks.
VOV egg liqueur
Does anyone know where I can buy bottles of the italian egg liqueur VOV? I had some in san francisco and am desperately trying to find it here!
Best Bloody Mary in SFV
I've been looking for a nice and spicy bloody in the (west) san fernando valley. I've had many but nothing memorable. Anyone have suggestions? pickled veggies a welcome bonus.

willing to go anywhere.
Wine Bar near Woodland Hills?
I'm looking for a decent bar/restaurant where I can relax in a quiet atmosphere with a friend and a glass of wine. Looking for something in the woodland hills/calabasas area but am willing to travel farther.
Thank for the suggestions!
Which foods taste WORSE organic?
i replied to another post about this but not quite sure how this works. however, wolaver's beer (from middlebury, vt) is organic and absolutely fantastic. they make at least a half dozen different varieties and it has a fairly wide distribution so if you're looking for organic beer it's a great find. check it out! www.wolavers.com/
Which foods taste WORSE organic?
haven't had too many organic beers, but wolaver's, which is the organic half of otter creek brewery from VT, makes AMAZING beer. simply one of the best beers (organic or not) i've ever had.
HELP! Souffle (Savory or Sweet) in LA or NYC
Don't know about LA but my FAVORITE place to get a souffle in new york city is at Jean Georges for lunch. At LEAST a day in advance you have to call to pre order one but you can order ANY flavor you want. The pastry chef makes them all himself and as long as they can get the ingredients he can make it.
He makes the best souffle i've ever had.
Thoughts on Cowgirl?
Has anyone ever been to Cowgirl (aka Cowgirl Hall of Fame)? I'm thinking of taking a group of 15 people there for a birthday and would like to know more about the place. thanks!
Need Spot for Birthday Dinner for 10-15 people: LES (or not)
I'm looking for a good, relatively cheap (entrees $25 max.) restaurant for a party of 10-15 23-year-olds. Hoping for something on the LES but would consider just about any place good for large groups south of central park.
Any suggestions would be great... party is next wednesday!
thanks.
Tacos in West SFV?
I've been looking for some fantastic hole-in-the-wall taco places but haven't had much luck. i'm looking for some suggestions for places in the west valley. please help!
