Late night dining in STL?
Bahn Mi Boba and Creperie on Euclid is open until 1am, I think. Asian street foods, fairly good, and different at least.
There is always Courtesy Diner in a pinch.
Looking for the unusual (StL)
Los Catrachos is Honduran food on Cherokee Street, just a few blocks west of Jefferson.
San Francisco hound itinerary questions for St. Louis hounds.
Sidney Street Cafe is directly across the street from Niche.
I second Venice Cafe.
I might suggest Rooster for lunch downtown, if you don't want to eat super heavy midwestern food all week.
STL: commercial kichen for rent?
I remember an article in Sauce a while back, but does anyone have the contact info for the place on Washington available for rent?
My sister will be coming into town to bake my wedding cake, and she knows better than to just use my kitchen.
Thanks!
STL-Fabulous Bday Dessert?
Niche just opened up their adjoining restaurant place, Veruca.
Five also has some amazing house-made ice cream.
would like to buy local beef/pork in st louis city
seconded. They have recently brought in a whole freezer full of local meats (beef, pork, lamb, and chicken)
STL - Rehersal Dinner Restaurants?
Yemanja Brasil in Benton Park has a banquet room.
Pho Grand St. Louis Question
what. I think that Absolutli Goosed has some of the nicest waitstaff and best drinks of most bars in St. Louis.
CBGBs is a dive. AG is a neighborhood bar.
Incidentally, I think there are better Vietnamese places that are far more authentic than Pho Grand. Go further south on Grand to Bahn Mi So, or to one of the smaller places on Gravois.
St. Louis Lunch
Agreed--St. Louis has so much delicious, affordable food that is locally sourced and not "St. Louis style".
Crown Candy is an experience, definitely. I will always swear by the chocolate banana malt.
If you're more of a foodie, I would also suggest Newstead Tower Public House (at Newstead and Manchester), or Five (at Manchester and Tower Grove Ave). Both have lots of incredible local meats, and pretty reasonable lunch prices.
STL: NY/East Coast style pizza
As a transplanted Rhode Islander, Imo's will never taste remotely good to me. Ever. Regardless of cheese.
The one time I went to the Talayna's on DeBallivere, I was not impressed.
I do enjoy Vito's on Olive, and Ferraro's in Soulard.
St. Louis breakfast
I second the Rooster impression. Completely delicious, high quality food for a reasonable price. I have consistently been disappointed by the Creperie in Clayton though.
I always enjoy Mokabe's brunch, personally, but I can understand how it wouldn't be a first choice.. I've been eying the brunch at Mangia for a while now, but haven't had a chance to make it over.
I also avoid the Shangri La Diner like the plague. Worst service of all time.
Mt Rushmore area good eats? [Moved from Elsewhere in America board]
Seconded! I had a great dinner here when I was in town over the summer.
Cupcakes in St. Louis?
I've only tried the Cupcakery, and as an avid cupcake baker I was underwhelmed. Their buttercream was FAR too sweet for my liking.
