America's Test Kitchen - animated clips agree |

Alton almost as silly as Paula I guess I compared them because they both have quite a bit to offer with their knowledge and experience, however, they chose to concentrate more on dumbing down America and their viewers with their presentations and simple foolishness. |

Alton almost as silly as Paula This guy is really getting to me, I do like the show, I think it is educational but overkill on props. |

Good, I really enjoyed this program. |

Food Network looking for really bad cooks Don't they already have the worst cooks around? |

TNFNS- 7/6/08 elimination (spoiler inside) To me, FN is no longer a legitimate cooking program, it is more of a side show with a circus atmosphere |
TNFNS- 7/6/08 elimination (spoiler inside) thank you, there are so many deserving female chefs and cooks. I am not saying they are unpleasant or NOT CUTE, but their achievements are based on their skills and knowledge. |
TNFNS- 7/6/08 elimination (spoiler inside) WOW, how do you explain Julia Child and other note worthy chefs. |

Before I purchase these, I wonder if they are worth the investment, they are pricey. Do they soil easily or can they be washed without damage. |

Anybody catch Throwdown with Mark Israel of Doughnut Plant? I thought he came across as imature and insecure. |

TNFNS- 7/6/08 elimination (spoiler inside) Thank you for the spoiler, saves me from watching (Curiosity). What is FN doing with these young chefs, they just cut them to size and intimidate them no end. |

I have been watching her little marathon today, most of her recipes seem to be for cocktails, meals come second. |

Can you identify these unusual Utensils? Take the Quiz! 10 our of 20, some of those things looked mighty dangerous. |

I enjoy this show, I am not sure I would like a boating or airplane segment. I hope they keep it as it is just travel different parts of the country. |

Planet Green Means Loss of Some Cooking Shows In addition to the cooking shows, Discovery Home offered several other interesting shows. I didn't know they were switching to the green channel. I am very disappointed, someone is really cutting corners at the cost of quality entertainment. |

Paula Dean - sticks finger in nose then in pie yes I have been in a restaurant kitchen and taken cooking and baking courses. The courses I took, and in my mothers and grandmothers kitchens, I was taught to be clean and sanitary. I would like to think that most cooks and chefs do the same, I hope unsanitary kitchens are the exception not the norm. |
Paula Dean - sticks finger in nose then in pie I know allot of people think she is grand, but what I just saw her do is really gross, she is baking a pie with her eldest son, she scratches, seemed to me, inside her nose then proceeds to cut the pie & eat it. Before that she was cooking with her other son, licked her pointer finger then went on to the food she was cooking. Don't tell me they edit out her washing her hands because what they really should edit out is her licking and scratching. Makes you wonder what goes in her kitchen restaurant? |

When rolling out flour tortillas, try putting a little flour on rolling pin. |

¿Como se llama the taquero's hubcap looking pan? It is called a "disco" |

I was watching him cook the meat, he actually placed it directly over the charcoal, I would think this would ruin the meat. Has anyone tried this |
I saw this show, thought it was very unappetizing and didn't look very good. I am not a slim person but would not try that at all. |
Anyone else enjoying Create TV? I like Create mostly cooking shows, I am displeased that in my part of the Country, they no longer air Test Kitchen, Daisy Cooks and a pastry type show. |
not being mean but it seems that everything CBS has touched recently turns into "Non-Gold" stuf |

Flour Tortillas (Moved from Home Cooking Board) You know I can't say I follow a recipe as I learned from Grandma & Mom, but here goes; about couple cups of flour, 1/2 tsp salt,, 1/2 tsp baking powder, cut in approx 1/4 c shortening, then knead with warm water to form ball divide into smaller smalls let rest approx 10-15 min. roll out and cook over a hot griddle (comale), flip over when tortilla bubbles. Good luck |
I slice it, fry lightly, then make a very good sandwich with mayo, lettuce, pickle, etc., very good. I don't understand the snobishness surrounding it. |
Flour Tortillas (Moved from Home Cooking Board) I make my own tortillas, I refrigerate them after one day only so that they don't go stale, I think that is the only reason tortillas are refrigerated unless they are the ones that are sold raw and must be cooked. |

Notable names in cooking show history? About Madeleine Kamman I used to watch this show, it was over my head because i didn't know much about french cooking but I enjoyed this show. |

What secret ingredient would you like to see on Iron Chef America? all these recomendations should be used when Andrew Zimmerman, the guy from Bizzare Foods is the challenger chef |

Who is the woman judge on Iron Chef that says everything taste "oily or greasy". She smells the food before she eats as if she is afraid of eating something old |
