Boar is the new (Black) Camel! Same here. Had the chicken, with lemon garlic ailoi and cremini mushrooms. I would agree, solid sandwich. Mine was very tasty - appropriate seasoning and lovely grilled flavour with a very good sauce. But yep, over $10 without a drink or sides made things rather difficult to swallow. Yeah, I'll be back, but probably just to try the other sandwiches, and not very frequently. Instagrammed below - ironically of course ;-) |

Thanks guys. That wasn't clear. So, I guess that at 6pm, there is a short five minute window where one of those numbers appears black, and I can make a reservation then. |

I am trying to figure out how to make a reservation at this place. I'm looking at May, so there's lots of time, but it doesn't seem possible to find any dates on their online system. And their website says that's the only way to make a reservation. Am I missing something? Thanks! |

Recommend high-ish end restaurant with excellent vegetarian dishes? Thanks guys, that's a helpful suggestion. Still looking for others as a (this) Saturday night reservation not available right now (I know, way too late) ...but will make sure this is on the list. |

Recommend high-ish end restaurant with excellent vegetarian dishes? Looking for a really good, reasonably high end restaurant with good vegetarian options. Not fish, but actual vegetarian options (more than just one token dish). Would be great if they had good meat dishes as well for me, but I'm tired of my wife having to order a few appy plates instead of an entree. Thanks in advance. |

It was pretty terrible. The best thing on the menu was the totally unauthentic chicken wings, which were tasty but not particularly Singaporean. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was a disgrace. While the rice itself was decent, the chicken tasted like it had been boiled in a plain water broth - completely tasteless, without any sort of flavour. The worst part, however, was the hipster waiters explaining to us how to eat our food. I will give them the ice kachang: that was pretty great. |

Simple Bistro, (619 Mt. Pleasant), update review We also had the $40 Prix Fixe menu last night, and were really disappointed in the entire experience. This is surprising, given the almost universally positive reviews at ChowHound. The panko crusted frogs legs were soggy, with the bacon in the dressing almost inedible, but I can give that a pass as an "I made the wrong choice" issue. My partner's salad was nice, but over dressed; again, we're not too upset with the food at this point. But the scallops were underdone and very "fishy," and while the steak was perfectly done, it was completely tasteless. I've had better steak at the Tulip. Ultimately, I would call the food mediocre, and yes, maybe I got it on a bad night, made the wrong selections, etc. but it was certainly nothing to write home about. The worst aspect of the evening, however, was the service. With a mostly empty restaurant, we waited ages to order wine, waited ages to order our meals, and didn't hear a peep from the waiter in between the necessary interactions. No "How is your meal?" no pleasant descriptions of the specials - actually, it was more like - "look at our board for the specials" - no offer for pepper, etc. However, immediately after we finished dessert - boom, there's the bill. A shame, really, as we were looking to add Simple to our list of nearby go to restaurants. I'll stick with Zucca thanks. |

Let's talk about Frank and the AGO! Can someone let me know whether dinner/lunch at Frank includes admission to the AGO? I know it won't include the special exhibits, but regular admission? |

If you want good sushi in the area, why don't you go to 930 Sushi on King Street West? It's got some of the best freshest fish in town. Yeah, it's takeout only and hardly cheap, but well worth it. No need to drive to Sushi Marche. |

Please god, let it be good. Please . . . |

Suggestions for "Homey" non-pretentious, but good food in West End Downtown Hey good suggestion. I have been there before, but didn't recall until twigged by your post. Seems more of a summer place to me, but I think we might be able to swing it. Mojitos!! Thanks! |

Suggestions for "Homey" non-pretentious, but good food in West End Downtown Okay, I'm at a loss here. I'm looking for good food, decent portions, not too expensive (not a big deal) and not pretentious in the Queen/King West area. I know, mission impossible, right? Might be able to do College St. as well. We've already been to One of a Kind Pasta and Grill - that's the only thing I could think of that fit this bill. Any ideas fellow Chowhounds? |

Help: Dinner New Year's Eve without gouging . . . I'm just looking for a nice, romantic dinner before New Year's Eve before spending a nice quiet night at home, and was looking for suggestions. Not looking for "parties" or anything like that. Know anywhere that wouldn't be having one of these "soak the customer for as much as we can" parties, in Downtown preferably (flexible on this)? I'm happy to pay for the food, but not for an evening of "activity" I don't plan to partake in. Thanks in advance. |
