cream pies

You are correct. The pie is $5, but as noted the extra $1.50 for whipped cream makes it $6.50. Stopped by there yesterday to confirm. Didn't touch anything though, everything there is always so sticky. The place needs a serious cleaning.

cream pies

If by awesome you mean, an over use of corn starch in the filling with a meringue that needs a knife to cut through it, and a crust like a rock, then yeah, they're awesome.

Anyone who says Pie 'n Burger needs to have one of PnB's overly starchy filling, leather-like meringue, and cement-like crust pies thrown in their face!! Most supermarket pies are better than PnB. Oh and cheaper too since PnB charges $7/slice and $20+ for the whole pie.

Just because it is a diner, doesn't make it good.
Just because it is old, doesn't make it good.
Just because it you used to go there when you were a kid, doesn't make it good.
Just because you always go there doesn't make ti good.
Just because it is on some list that was made by people who never went and ate there, doesn't make it good.

The pies at Pie 'n Burger are terrible!! Avoid!!

Favorite "counter dining" spot?

Pie N Burger couldn't make a good meringue if they tried (and I am not convinced that they even try anymore).

Yeah, if a greasy, dirty counter that serves a bland $8 cheeseburger with the worst-tasting overpriced pie is what you want from a counter, then by all means visit Pie N Burger. <Barf!>
