BYOB Rec. for birthday dinner in Monmouth County
BYOB places ..Delvettos in Neptune NJ has great Italian food, but the shopping center is a little grim but is a great BYOB, for a picture pefect place on the ocean I would consider Matisse in Belmar , In Freehold I think La Cippolino in town center is still BYOB very nice place also
Mack's chicken shack Belmar has great Fried chicken
House hunting in Belmar can make you hungry, I got the 8 pc bucke,t sat on the deck outside Mack's chcicken shack ..looking at the ocean a million dollar plus view and $20 worth of fried chicken ...heaven ... and said to myself, if i could just bring the family down here each weekend i could save a whole lot of money, on a summer house
but hopefully i will find something in my price range, My Brother in law got the side of creamed spinach, said it was as good as Peter Lugars...as he was eating it right out of the container i did not ask for a taste ...now if Macks had clams on the half shell i would be there every night...going back to Belmar Friday and will try Kleins have not been there in years, as i hate to wait hours to be seated..but the Realtor said she will take care of that ..
Best Ice Cream Brand
Costco's premium vanilla unless you have tried it you have no idea what you are missing , simply the best
Nicchio Ristorante - Belmar
table hopping is not cool, asking to be resat is cool ....The place looks very nice but i know enough good Italian places ...wish it was a different menu
Scarborough Fair at Sea Girt NJ - very disappointing!
the place has been around 20 years, not sure how
Vivas Belmar is out of business
Vivas Belmar is out of business, another one bites the dust,
Best burger in Mon/OC?
my backyard cooked over real charcoal , with summer Jersey tomato slice
restuarant at the borgata...
that was te deal 2 years ago before the Borgata started bleeding money all over the floor.. the Head Borgata guy quit when he saw the writing on the wall .. AC will be down a few years at least ...tey finnished filming that show 18 months ago i was told
Mack's chicken shack Belmar has great Fried chicken
I was very impressed with the qaulity of the sides, and the chicken was the best i have ever eaten, nice treat on the boardwalk, and the Cuban Black bean soup was amazing, its just hard to park near there on a real sunny day ...
restuarant at the borgata...
the golden days of Borgata are gone philly slots killed them they need a sports book in AC ..otherwise its just anothercasino ...and they really screwed up the Wate Club hotel ...how do you call your self the waterclub when i have friends who have bigger pools in thier backyard than you do for 800 rooms..lol...ps I love the salad bar at the food court ...fresh and made to order...I think ts called lettuce head
Very Good to Great Shore Restaurants that are BYO's
Hands down favorite Matisse in Belmar, ocean views and your own bottle of wine ...this place still rocks, and the original chef is back cooking...I am just not that big a fan of BYOB...or I would be there all the time,
great place for a romantic meal but I am past that stage of life...oh the dating years they were fun ..and expensive...now its out with the kids and i need a stiff drink
Gordon Ramsay gave a NJ restaurant a makeover
never heard of te place by either name, these days money is tight i like to go where i know i will get a what I want.
Frenchtown Inn
I have not been there in years but its a great location and a great place to bring a date ...
Kelley's Neptune City

Matisse Belmar Sunday brunch with an ocean view
We went last week had a very nice meal, we had a reservation and were seated promptly, firs a few random remarks
what You'll find, shrimp salad, smoked mackerel, salmon, herring, roast beef, turkey, assorted cheeses and salads (including goat cheese), tomato salad... and that's just a little of what you'll find on the cold line! On the hot side you've got smoked pork,General Tso's chicken, meatballs, braised cabbage, red potatoes,BBQ beef, lamb.... well, you get the idea. There are enough vegetables on the buffet to keep vegetarians happy, and enough meat selections to satisfy even the biggest meat and potato man...ME
1. THE VIEW is amazing ocean waves crashing 20 yards from your table, just incredible for $24 each its very reasonable
2. nice jazz duo, but live music is really not my thing but i still tipped them, hey its the season
3. perfect eggs Benedict, my wife liked the French Toast alot
4. nice carving station of Turkey,Ham Roast Beef & and a great Texas smoked brisket
5 raw bar was oysters, loxes, clam on the half & snow crab all you want
6. a couple of great chicken dishes, fish, and bbq beef ribs that are made to order instead of the typical scooping your meal out of a buffet buckets, they bring you any item you ask for off the brunch menu
7. the service was attentive and the place was 60% full, We had a nice table along the window
8. the place is BYOB so we brought a nice bottle of champagne and enjoyed our meal with some bubbles
coffee was served with one of my favorite New Orleans breakfast treats - beignets, not as good as Cafe Du mond ...but it was a very nice touch
Next time we will bring a large group and camp out with some great wines all afternoon...lol
dessert bar was your typical mix of made on site cakes and some other smaller pastries that tasted like they were made elsewhere bakery items
We will return, it had my folks talking about the old days when the Sea Girt Yankee Clipper was our favorite brunch spot years ago...the view is even nicer than the clipper and the food was much better than I remember it being at the Yankee Clippier
final thought if you are looking for a great setting and magnificent views low key, no rush atmosphere this is the place for brunch. Matisse is a wonderful choice,But if you are looking for mounds of food served like your at the brunch at Short Hills Hilton you may wish to look elsewhere. We really enjoyed the food, the no rush atmosphere, the crashing waves on a budget! with before tip the total for 6 of us was $160.00 with tax
I am always looking for these smaller type brunches than the normal wedding leftovers served by most big hotel brunches. please post about other Monmouth county area brunches...does mcclonnes? in Sea Bright have a Sunday brunch ?
Mahogany Grille
they never seat you at the time of your reservation, if you like to wait in a 4 foot hallway or the parking lot you will enjoy it
Harold's New York Deli
Le TUB in hollywood is so overated! losey if you ask me on a cost basis, Harolds is a great spot but bring a big doggie bag and a big wallet...but its worth it the sandwiches are huge...wolfies was the place in the Miami area i think its closed now
spring lake, shore area
Matisse in Belmar,( located right on the beach AMAZING views of the ocean from your table!) I know is open Christmas Eve, not sure about Christmas and the original Chef that put the place on the map is cooking full time again, so its great food.
I am going to brunch at Matisse this Sunday so i will ask about Christmas day and i will post a full brunch report abd let you know if they are open Christmas.
