Paula Deen's restaurant

I have never eaten at PD's. I have never heard anything great about it. BUT, Savannah is worth a drive from Atlanta. All of downtown Savannah is a historical district. There are at least a dozen real good restaurants there, and the town it self is beautiful. Go on March 17 th if you are brave. They officially close all of downtown Savannah for the St. Patricks Day Parade. I have heard it is second only to NYC.

While traveling to Savannah go over to Tybee Island for a great beach and eat at the Breakfast Club. Only opened for breakast. http://www.tybeeisland.com/dining/brclub/Default.htm.

And if you have time keep going south to Darien, go to Hunters and then go a little further south to St.Simons Island, The Red Barn http://www.benniesredbarn.com/ has been there for at least 50 years.

oyster farms in Washington

I think it has to do with what you grew up eating. I preferr the east coast smaller oysters from Georgia, Chesapeake, I think. They are seldomly a dime any more, closer to a buck. The Gulf oysters are different. Here is a site that gives some info on the subject.

Atlanta: Mary Mac's or the Colonnade?

Mary Mac's is almost a historic Atlanta landmark. I ate there a year or so ago and really enjoyed it. (And I am from the "south") Try the old fashion southern classics. Seems like I even remember fried green tomatoes. Pittypat’s Porch may be touristy now it has been around since the '60s. There are a lot of good restaurants downtown and in Buckhead. The Pleasant Peasant was good many years ago (mid town). The Varsity near Georgia Tech is pretty unique.

Any other good burgers in Medford/Ashland/Rogue Valley?

So far I think Porter's in Medford has the best burger for the best price $3.00 at happy hour.

Any good food in Ashland or Rogue Valley?

Thanks for the response. I have read the past years post. My wife and I love Elements and Porters, just around the corner. Never heard of Morning Glory before. I have heard that Pilaf is for sale and the owner, Susan Powell, will keep up her work with Global Pantry.

Is there a list of Ashland area posters?
