Your thoughts and personal experiences with this new wave of meat distribution? |

Inexpensive, yet impressive eating spot at Spadina & Bloor I'm afraid you've got the wrong picture, Googs. She is certainly not Bohemian nor necessarily a peace activist. Coming from Nationalist China where demonstrations are forbidden she was just overwhelmed with the idea that people in such numbers would be allowed to march in the street without being arrested. |

Maple Sugar [Moved from New England board] Would taking 40-50 gallons of sap effect a tree in a negative way. Isn't the sap the equivalent to blood in a human ? |

'St. Patricks Day' special foods or dining out spots? WOW! |
|

Your inexpensive, Unusual locations to "Grab A Bite"? That's true but I think it was certainly implied. Allen's is a great place to dine but I don't think it's considered somewhere to grab an inexpensive bite unless you've just won a lottery |

Visiting Toronto, desperately seeking advice! NEVER ON SUNDAY OR A MONDAY If your interested |

There are many threads here on best F&C but of late "High Street" gets the nod by far at least IMHO. However, it is not downtown. It's in North Toronto, Underhill Rd. (in the plaza) just north of Lawrence Ave East at Don Valley Prkwy exit. Definitely worth the trip! |

Your inexpensive, Unusual locations to "Grab A Bite"? I see you've included Allen's on Danforth in your list... Do you consider that an 'inexpensive place", to grab a quick bite? |

Something different downtown AND a deli HOGTOWN WELCOMES YOU FOODIESNORTH "LA Marche" at BCE Place 42 Yonge St 416 366-8986 for a unique dining experience with great aesthetics for your daughter. Colourful, aroma filled space with serving stations that you visit, have your favourite foods prepared before your eyes and have your passport (bill) stamped. Touristy but definitely fun dining. For a unique deli type experience I would recommend " "The Black Camel" for an Angus beef "slow roasted" brisket sandwich with a variety of savoury toppings. I like the horseradish. Apparently, the owner says, it's a traditional ancient method of meat preparation from Europe. |

I'm thinking it's a Ukrainian dish. Help! Why No Gio? Memories are easily associated with food and I fondly remember my ex and the aroma of that concoction baking in the ov! |

Who are the great food writers, past & present? It would appear that I've opened a tempest here on this topic. It really is amazing to me to see the high quality yield brought forward by my request. |

Any Wednesday Evening, Food Related Happenings? AND THE WINNER IS???? Considering I had the listings in front of me and prompted by positive memories about a play called "The Arab-Israeli Cookbook", that I had enjoyed at The Berkley St. Theater, some time back, where the actors actually cooked on stage for the entire show, I checked for live plays with a culinary theme. The effort proved fruitless and so I made the final choice of where to spend my evening off. |
