Wedding Reception Dinner - Locations

If you don't mind, could you reveal what you ended up paying Blue Hill? Did you have it at the small room or the main dining room?

Thanks :)

Sable in West Village?

Had the sturgeon for lunch, sable for dinner. I preferred their sable, especially with the wasabi flying fish roe!

Anyway, yes, it hit the spot ;)

Sable in West Village?

I actually just came from there. Didn't know which sandwich to get--so got both a sable and a sturgeon :(

not only lazy, but fatter now!

Sable in West Village?

Used to love the Sable Deli on the UES when I lived there. Great sable, sturgeon and lobster salad!

Now it's a bit too far to get to living in the West Village. Are there any similar places nearby per chance? Only thing I can think of is Russ' Daughters and that's not even that close!

Laziness wins so far :(

Hardest question in New York City - all time favorite restaurant that you hope will always be around.

Afraid to say that Claude is closing shop sometime in September. I was wondering why he didn't close to go home to France for Bastille Day. Apparently, he's moving back to France! Sad news :(

Best restaurants in NYC for Bone Marrow?

I prefer the Blue Ribbon (SoHo) version than its sister restaurant at the UWS. The marmalade sauce seems better than the teriyaki version.

Dressing for Indochine

I know this is offtopic, but I apologize..didn't want to start a new thread and my question is of the same spirit!

I have upcoming reservations for Blue Hill and what is the dress code for that place as well?

Marrons Glaces

Anyone know of a store where I may purchase these in town?
I don't know if brand matters or if there are differences. But essentially, I'm just looking to give it as a gift.

Thanks much and happy new year!

Falafel

Chickpea is great. I also get mine from Yummy on Bleecker and 7th Avenue.

There used to be a place called Village Shawarma on 6th Avenue and West 4th..but closed down. Anyone know if they moved to a different location? :p

How do you like bone marrow?

Yes, Blue Ribbon prepares them well :)

In search of walnut macaroons/cookies comparable to Hungarian Pastry Shop's cookies

I don't think they're walnut macaroons, but you should try out Claude's Patisserie on West 4th between 6th Avenue and 7th Ave.

Great pastries all the time, and luckily, I live a block away :)
