Birthday Dinner: Coast....but smaller??

Heading up to Vancouver from Seattle next month with my wife for my 35th Birthday. On our most recent trip to Vancouver, we ate at Coast and thoroughly enjoyed it. To be honest, I'd be very happy to go back, but I'm sure there are plenty of other places with just as good, if not better food that would be much more intimate. We are fairly adventorous eaters...bone marrow, sweetbreads, fois gras, etc. are all in play. Any suggestions would be much appreicated. Thanks, in advance.

TURKEY Reuben

The turkey ruben at Montlake Alehouse is fantastic. Their beer selection is good as well.

Turkey Dinner...Tonight!

Good news is that I leave for Maui on Saturday. Bad news is that I'm likely going to be eating fish tacos or Mahi Mahi on Thursday rather than a traditional turkey dinnner. I know a lot of places do Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving itself, but does anyone know where I can turkey/stuffing/mashed potatoes/mac & cheese/10 pounds heavier TONIGHT? Thanks.

Homemade Tortillas??

I'm having a dinner party this weekend with a Taco theme (several different protiens accompanied with several different salsas). I'm smart enough to know where my skills start and stop and don't have the first clue how to make homemade tortillas. Does anyone know somewhere I that sells them? Thanks, in advance.

Going to Cactus

I think Cactus is good...with two dishes that are GREAT. First, the Nachos with schredded chicken is fantastic. The other dish I get quite frequently is their butternut squash enchiladas, but with an addition. Ask them to add carnitas to the enchilada and the salty flavors balance perfectly with the sweet butternut squash. Enjoy!

Sitka & Spruce vs. Elemental

Tonight is my birthday, and have narrowed dinner for two to either Sitka & Spruce or Elemental. Any insight and/or menu suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Headed to Vancouver, need resto suggestions

I went to a restaurant called Coast last time I was in Vancouver and it was fantastic. Great menu, great bar and great service (not to mention the location is fantastic, right by other bars, restaurants and coffee shops.

a family outing to eat and watch the Super Bowl

Based on what you're looking for, it sounds like the Montlake Alehouse and Eatery is perfect for you guys. It used to be more of a sportsbar called Grady's, but changed owners and they've replaced the pool tables in the back with a big play-pit for kids. Personally, I liked Grady's better, but that's probably because I don't have kids and I rather enjoy the sports-bar scene. Anyhow, the food is great, the TV's are HD and kids are definately welcome. Enjoy the game.

Need a Place for Eight Tonight

Had a similar sized group at Marjorie last week and it was great.

Gourmet Burger

So, when it comes to burgers, my opinion is that the best ones are either really cheap or really expensive (Sorry to all you Red Mill fans). For cheap eats, I've always been a fan of the classic Dick's cheeseburger (with cheese stuck to the paper, of course) and the double/double from In & Out burger when I'm traveling. The only places in and around Seattle I've found with great higher end burgers are the Kobe (style) burgers at Seastar in Bellevue and Coupage in Madrona. PLEASE, let me know what I'm missing....Thanks!

Best Braised Dish in Seattle?

I'm a huge fan of braised lamb shank this time of year. My favorites are La Rustica in West Seattle and 35th Street Bistro in Fremont. Enjoy!
