Trader Joe's in Needham had vacuum packed chestnuts in 8 ounce pouches. I can't remember the price but it seemed reasonable.

And if you're looking for a great party idea, check into Wasik's cheese tastings. For a fee and cost of food, Brian Wasik did an in home guided tasting that was educational and phenomenal. Not cheep, but tasty fun!
Family Dinner for 14 Near Poughkeepsie
We're having a family celebration and would like a private/semi-private room for a dinner near Poughkeepsie/Hopewell Junction, NY.

Apricot King is great and the apricots are low sulfur. I used to purchase directly from them when I lived in CA, and now I will mail order from them.

You could give Dewar's in Newton Center or Wellelsey a call. They carry D'Artagnan products too. Also, Wasik's Cheese Shop in Wellelsey may be able to order it for you.
White Chocolate Melting Disks
Read the ingredients on the Wilton discs at the party stores- they are not white chocolate. You're best bet is the call Whole Foods and see if they carry the Valrhona discs (technically called feves) or chopping down a block.

What would duty free have? You could pick it up on the way to France. I haven't been in Dorval's Duty Free in years.
Singh's Cafe in Wellelsey
I've gone to the lunch buffet three times now, and I like it. They are rotating some foods, so it's nice to have some variety. They have a good number of vegetarian dishes on the buffet, 2 chicken, and one shrimp dish. The staff have been good and friendly, too. The past two times I went, someone came over and asked how the food was and if everything was OK. I have yet to try dinner, but I hope things work out and they remain.

Date night bar / resto recommendations in the burbs
Bobby's is still not open. The Blue Ginger lounge is fun for a date, but do get there early (6pm on a Friday is great, not sure about Saturday). Sel de la Terre is good, and Cafe Mangal in Wellesley is nice (but bring your own wine). Amarin Thai in Wellesley is also nice and relatively quiet. Also, Kouzina in Waban and Lineage in Brookline. These are some of my preferred date places.

Singh's Cafe in Wellelsey
I went for the lunch buffet today. Standard faire on the buffet (chicken tikka masala, chana daal, chiecken curry, shrimp do piazza, etc), but very tasty. Price for lunch is $7.95, which is a great price for lunch in Wellelsey. I want to go back for dinner and order off the menu.
