Wolfe's (former Peristyle) - inquiry

Wolfe's cuisine after he purchased Peristyle and befor he renamed it paled in comparison to the endeavors of Anne Kearney. If you are looking for something resembling the glory days of Peristyle, you should try Bistro Daisy on Magazine: the ambience and culinary technique is very reminescent of the sorely missed Peristyle.

table #8 ?

Table #8 was a designated table # before Katrina and the ensuing renovation. The table is now #308 and is not raised, although it is still under the turret and somewhat off to the side. The table is located in the Coliseum dining room and that room is typically (although not always) used for private functions.

Little Rock

RUN don't walk to Ashley's at the Capital. It is so good and so reasonably priced!

great eats in Little Rock, AR

I totally agree about Ashley's. The food is beautifully presented and the pricing is remarkable. You would easily pay twice the bill in other cities for food the caliber of Ashley's and the service is top notch. I've been for breakfast, lunch & dinner and was impressed each time.

Mahoney's Po-Boys on Magazine

Amen to all the praises! I went there today based on feedback from fellow hounds and I was so glad I did. The grilled shrimp, fried green tomato & remoulade was stellar as were the onion rings. Thanks everyone for the heads up!

Peristyle is closing

Sounds like it was time. The place was never the same after Anne, Debbie & Lee left.

Gautreu's?

Anyone been lately? I haven't seen much on the board about them since the chef was named one of Food & Wine's top ten.

Flaming Torch?

Try Chateu du Lac (they just moved to Metairie Rd. from Kenner). It is truly a bistro in the French style.

Has Sonnier hit his stride at the Grill Room?

I had a great meal there (culinary), but the service was horrible. I would recommend many other fine dining establishments over the New Orleans Grill.
