Anything good to eat in Thousand Oaks?
If you have time for a little drive, I would suggest drive to the beach and have lunch at Neptune's net. Typical fried seafood, but its a good spot to have a beer and food at the beach.
Simi restaurant
looks like in the post he links it to Barton Steak & Seafood and located in Simi Valley.
Best Subs In The Valley
I have heard that San Carlo Italian Deli is pretty good, it is in chatsworth.

My family and I are going to the Natural History Museum tomorrow. Anyone have any recs for a moderately priced lunch spot. Open to all types of foods.
Need a few specific recs for San Fernando Valley
I agree with Brent's and black pastrami reuben, it is amazing.
Hey, Los Angelesians - where should we eat??
I would recommend a sandwich from Bay Cities Italian Deli in Santa Monica. The Godmother is amazing.

Good food close to Dodger Stadium
They have a restaurant called Home about 2 miles from Dodger Stadium. It is right of the 5 freeway off of Fletcher.
The food is pretty good and the patio area is really nice. I am not sure if the website shows this location, it opened last season I believe.

Must-eats in LA - visiting from NY
I think Philippe's is overrated. If Santa Monica and Northridge aren't too far out of your way, I recommend.
Bay Cities Italian Deli - Godmother spicy with the works is amazing. Santa Monica
Brent's Deli - Black Pastrami Reuben . Northridge
Grilled Cheese Invitational
I couldn't handle the long lines either, so I went over and watched some of the NFL Draft at Eastside Market & Italian Deli and enjoyed a roast beef and pastrami sandwich. It is pretty good and no long lines like Phillipe's.
Vegetarian for Lent
I'm trying to give up meat for all of lent. I work in Woodland Hills, anyone have any suggestions for fish or vegetarian meals?
BBQ RESTAURANT IN WOODLAND HILLS
I think it is called the original texas bbq king. I haven't been there, there is also a bbq place further up topanga called Rib Ranch BBQ that is pretty good.

ISO Hot Corned Beef sandwich
I second Brent's...There corn beef sandwich and corned beef reuben are really good.
New to the SF. Valley. Where are the best places to eat??
I think Pho So 1 is pretty good and cheap if you like vietnamese, Brent's deli has has good food, especially their black pastrami reuben. Los toros is also good and their margaritas are strong.
New to the SF. Valley. Where are the best places to eat??
I believe Gorikee is closed. The Original Texas BBQ King is open in that location.
Best pastrami in L.A.
I like Langer's and Brent's Deli which is a lot closer drive for me.
Where to eat at Universal Studios?
If you are talking about outside of the park at Citywalk, I think there is a Versaille's Cuban. I have only been to the one on Ventura Blvd and the food was good. They have a menu on their site versaillescuban.com
Elementary School Chalupa
I think my elementary years started like in 84 and my only memories are the Chalupas, Meat Pockets (i think they changed the names to piroshkis when i was there) and the chocolate chip cookies. If you're parent prepaid for like a month of lunches you got a free cookie....those were the days.
Casual good food in Woodland Hills
I am a big fan of Brent's Deli in Northridge, it is not too far of a drive. I haven't had a meal there that i didnt like. If you go try the black pastrami reuben.
Elementary School Chalupa
I remember those when i was in elementary school. It was like a giant frito chip. We also had these things called meat pockets that were awesome.
Ice Cream
Wooo!!! I found the place that ive driven by, when going to Brent's Deli. They said they are open to the public without a license and sell Pink Panther ice cream by the box. Thanks for everyones help.

Ice Cream
Does anyone know where I can get a couple of boxes of the ice cream that the ice cream cars sell?
I am specifically looking for the pink panther popsicles and want to buy like one or two boxes for a friends birthday. I have seen a place in northridge that all the ice cream trucks park, but not sure if a normal person can go there and buy stuff.
If anyone knows a place close to the valley, that would be great.
Great Sandwich Shop on Topanga Canyon Blvd.
I had Cricca's and when i finally thought of Panino's, I came back and Markn beat me to it. Panino is a little hard to see from Topanga Canyon. You have to make a quick left on Dumetz and another quick left into the little center. They also have a website with a menu at paninorestaurants.com
Working for 2 weeks between Woodland Hills and Westlake
Closer to the 118 freeway..there is a mexican place called Los Toros off of Devonshire and Topanga that has decent food and good margaritas. It is probably about 10 miles away.
Brent's Deli in Northridge-overrated IMO
I've never been to Brent's until last week and though i prefer Langer's pastrami sandwich, Brent's was good. I live in simi and there are few good spots and wish we had a Brent's.
The only complaint i had was the side of coleslaw that came with my pastrami sandwich was small.
I had the bleu cheese burger the next time and the side of fries that came with it was huge.
The next time i had one of the triple decker sandwiches. I dont know who could eat more than a half. I usually sit at the counter at my on my lunch break and the service is always excellent. They always bring my drink and some pickles right away and take care of my check quickly.
I need Filipino food!!
Nipa Hut is open in the valley, i drive by it everyday. It is on Sherman Way, just east of Topanga Canyon. I have never been there, but drive by curiously everyday.
Absolut LA vodka--where is it?
The BevMo in my area says they carry it, but they are only getting 1 bottle in on Thursday....lol
