Must Eat Places in SF for a NYC girl
Thorough Bread and Pastry on Church between Market and 15th. Truly amazing almond croissants and other French pastries - I think it's connected to a cooking school. Better than most pastry shops in NY. And there's a nice little garden in the back.

Girl Scout Cookies. What to do with them.
In high school I worked in an ice cream shop and we made a sundae that tasted just like Girl Scout Thin Mints: mint chip ice cream topped with crumbled oreos covered in hot fudge. I gained ten pounds that year. Crumbled Thin Mints over ice cream with home made hot fudge would be divine.

Great fondue??
It might sound cheesy (haha) but I'm looking for a romantic place that serves great fondue to celebrate my first wedding anniversary. (My husband's family is Swiss.) I've tried the fondue at Artisanal and it was pretty good, but I find the atmosphere too loud and hectic. Any suggestions?
FreshDirect catering?
I'm thinking of ordering a bunch of hors d'oeuvres platters (sushi, shrimp, cheeses, etc.) from FreshDirect for a big party in February. Has anyone had experience with their catering department? Is the quality good? Are they reliable?
Catering a very casual wedding party
Thanks for the suggestions. By inexpensive, I guess I mean under $10 per person. As for setting up, etc., we can do that ourselves. We just need lots of tasty finger foods for lots of people. Any other restaurant or food store suggestions would be welcome.
Catering a very casual wedding party
My new husband and I eloped last weekend, and in a few months we're planning to have a casual party to celebrate this fact at a friend's loft in midtown. We're inviting about 70 friends and would like to serve wine, champagne, and some heavy hors d'oeuvres. (The party will be from 5 to 8 pm). Does anyone have recommendations for an inexpensive way to cater this? The loft doesn't have much of a kitchen, so the food would need to be prepared elsewhere. Ethnic variations (Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, etc) are most welcome. Many thanks.
