I was in Israel recently. The falafel that Levy's Pizza in Queens serves was far superior to some of the falafel that I ate in Israel.

Sushi Metsuyan used to have good lunch combination specials. They recently raised their prices on their entire menu (lunch as well). This is understandable considering the increase in food prices. What I don't understand is why Sushi Metsuyan has also changed their lunch special to no longer include their better soups (beef udon or curry soup with dumplings) in this special. Miso soup has replaced the other better Sushi quality soups in their lunch special.

No reliable kosher certification agency will allow a restaurant to prepare and sell both kosher and non kosher food.

Wok Tov in Cedarhursr is expanding and might be able to do it.

I think that it is terrific that there are so many more options for Passover than there used to be in the past. My only gripe is that there are not enough healthy prepared or packaged foods that are kosher for Passover. A lot of the prepared foods are heavy on any or all of the following: potato starch, cottonseed oil, whole eggs, and sugar.

How is EJ's Pizza in Teaneck? Do they do catering?

Grill Point serves its purpose. It is a casual Israeli restaurant. As a restaurant, Hapisgah is better (and more expensive). I like Grill Point's concept of being able to order food and have self service. This enables a person to sit at a counter table and not have to pay for waiter service.

By the way, the Grill Point in Cedarhurst had new chairs and tables stacked in front of it. I would assume that means that they are opening soon.

What's going on in Cedarhurst? Ruthie's is for sale and Schwartz's Appetizing is moving into Gourmet Glatt. Are there any other changes occuring (closings or openings)?

Trader Joe's store brand is kosher. It is good and cheaper than the name brands.

I wonder if it is possible to get kosher for Passover agave syrup.

If you have the budget for it, Morrell Caterers outdoes both Main Event and Prestige. They are the in house caterer at several locations.

jk, I agree with you. The quality of pizza in many places is mediocre. I find that very often the sauce makes or breaks the quality of the pizza.

My experience with Prestige is that the presentation is better than the taste (ie. it looks much better than it actually tastes).

I have been to affairs catered by both. There is no comparison. Main Event is far superior.
