Tried a new restaurant in Forest Park

I've been there a couple of times. great place to go for lunch if your shopping in nearby oak park.

Group Staying in Schiller Park, need rec's please

Shoeless Joe's is a pretty big sports bar right down the street from your hotel. If you go North on Manheim past the airport to Higgins it's going to be on the northwest corner. Probably a good place to take a baseball team.

There's also a Lou Malnati's not too far from your hotel either. It's also north in Elk Grove on higgins rd. I've been there many times and the pizza is just as good as any other Lou's. Make sure to get the cornmeal crust for .75 more.

Rex's deli on cumberland across from maurice lenel cookies.

David Burke's Primehouse

Chophouse has a bone-in filet I believe on special on occassion. At least they did the last time I was there.

steak house recommendation: Gibson's v. Chophouse

If you like a nice quiet meal without a boisterous atmosphere go to Chophouse. The tables are fairly close to each other but the rooms are put together nicely. The service is excellent and the last time I went there I had the 24 oz new york strip and it was awesome. Tourist trap or not the steaks are top notch and it is consistenly voted top steak house in Chicago.

Best Butcher Shop for Aged Beef

You should try Dorflers in Buffalo Grove if you get a chance. I bought some meat there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was excellent. The website says all their beef is dry-aged prime but when I went in there the butcher told me that the strips were wet-aged and everything else was dry-aged. It's also not as expensive as city butcher shops.

I also just bought some meat from Prime Steaks of Barrington. The strip I had was fairly tender(however could have been thicker) but the filets are cut to order and are extremely tender and very excellent.
