Looking for best reasonable/good prix fixe for group of 12
On the early side, at 6. I know that restaurants have prix fixe then, but what I want to know is which are the best and most bang for buck. I think there are plenty of tourist trap restaurants in theater dist. so I'd like to avoid.
Looking for best reasonable/good prix fixe for group of 12
Hi,
We're having a goodbye party for a friend and need to eat early before going on a rocking the river food. The rest of the group is coming in from burbs, and I don't want to eat at a tourist trap. The only prix fixe I know of personally is at Suenos, which I love. I've looked up many in vicinity of theater dist (which is near boat) but while some are reasonable, when you look at the wine list, it's crazy (Remi, for instance).
I was thinking it might be fun to go to a good Korean restaurant, which serves a wide variety of foods in a nice setting. Any ideas for dinner prix fixe. Thanks in advance.
Where have all the good, reliable UWS Chinese restaurants gone?
I'm researching an article on the demise of the UWS neighborhood Chinese--think Empire Szechuan Gourmet (the larger one on 96th) or even Dynasty in Morningside Heights. Robert Seitsema sites the trend of Thais taking over the role of the neighborhood "to go" place over the past decade. I'd like to explore particular restaurants and find out which ones are still worth a visit or a takeout from between 72 and 110th or so from Riverside to CPW. Thanks!
Any suggestions for great free bar food @ happy hours or other times
Hi,
These are hard times, so any suggestions for good, free bar snacks (or wine bar snacks) at happy hour or on certain days of the week. Would love to hear some as guests will be soon coming in for the holidays and the money will be flowing out for gifts, etc.
Where would you go for lunch that you can't afford to splurge for dinner?
Thanks for the suggestions. What I'm really looking for is a place in which you don't have to be constrained by prix fixe menu, but the lunch menu is less expensive. TIA
Where would you go for lunch that you can't afford to splurge for dinner?
Taking a friend from out of town to lunch. Id like to go somewhere special, a place where it's too pricey for dinner but where we'd be able to get a feel for how great the food is at lunch--for much less. I hate to go to places that have the same prices for lunch as dinner. Anyway, any suggestions appreciated.
Need a caterer for party of 40, UWS
I would like to hold my fiftieth birthday party in my home. Would love a good, reasonable caterer to provide finger foods for party of 40. Anyone have any experience w/ a good caterer. I think I'd want two people to work the party. What does this kind of thing cost?
Thanks,

Have a res at Crispo this weekend - What should I order?
I thought Crispo closed. Did it reopen at a new location. That's fantastic if it did. I think my husband likes a lamb dish there. Possibly lamb shank.
