Thanks so much for the recommendations. It's always nice to have a new restaurant to go to and when on the the water a view is great. Thanks!
"Baltimore Magazine's" Best Of in recent current issue?
HI...I went to Baltimore mag but limited information. We're in Baltimore with a business group in May. We always go to very nice restaurants. Group likes steaks and sea food. Do you have suggestions for us? We've been to Ruth's Kris, Morton's, Sullivan's and they were all excellent so we could easy go again. What do you think of Flemings or the Prime Rib Steakhouse? Also want to get some great crab legs at a nice restaurant. Any help appreciated.
Giuliana and Bill Rancic new restaurant
Anyone know when this new Italian restaurant in Chicago will open? I believe the name is RPM Italian and located at 52 W. Illinois St. Press said the end of January, and we'll be in Chicago Feb. 3 & 4 so would like to go. Any reviews on Chicago Cut Steakhouse? We like a variety of restaurants. Park Grille, Spiaggia, Tavern on Rush, North Pond, Naha, Kinzie Chophouse, Tru, Gibsons to people watch, Andy's for jazz, and we go to Peninsula & Nobi for breakfast for the view. Any other sugestions we might like for a change?
Newport this spring
Thanks so much for this information. I went on line to see H2O and that could be it, but it has changed. The one I remember was more country cottage looking. Goat Island sounds fun for Friday night. Thanks again!
Newport decesion
Thanks for replying. I think we will give Cooke House a try. Also 22 Bowen's looks like a possibility.
Newport decesion
In reading the reviews there are good and bad about these two restaurants. Please let me know what you think. Is the Clarke Cooke House restaurant any good? Also the Black Pearl. Any other sugestions?
St Pete Beach next week.
We just got back. Great dinners to report. First night Palm Court at Tradewinds right next to the Sirata where we stayed. Dinner for 12. Each one including wine, appetizer and desert was just excellent. Next night 16 of us at Patrick's Bayside Grill just across Gulf Boulevard from the Sirata was equally as amazing if not better. A member of our group had been twice before on recent trips. Small kitchen, large menu, great specials. Lobster, steaks, lamb, sea food, deserts all perfection....highly recommended. Friday night went to a joint called Twisted Tarpon that used to be Philthy Phill's. We didn't know this until we arrived. The PP menu was better , but the offerings were good. Lots of seafood platters, also ribs and some fresh fish. Last night at Gigi's an old family Italian restaurant just down Gulf Boulvard. It was very good. Homemade pasta and great pizza. We had breakfast out at some of the places.....nothing exceptional to report. My best recommendation is for Patrick's Bayside Grill. You will be very happy you went.

St Pete Beach next week.
Looking for restaurants and beach front cafes near the Beachcomber hotel on St. Pete Beach. Saw recommended the Palm Court at Trade Winds, Beverly's for breakfast, Paradise Grille's second location is near? and Cafe Luna. The Wharf is a taxi drive but looks like the kind of place we like.
Any suggestions are most welcome!

Quebec City Report
Just got back form our visit to Quebec. The city is lovely and the people are very friendly. We had fun and enjoyed several restaurants. Ended up staying at the Marriott which was a very good choice and great location. Here is my report.
First day:
Lunch at Paillard very good and interesting
Dinner at Moine Echanson - we were sorry we went - over priced and very average. My husband got basically a bowl of soup with sausage in it, glass of wine and an appetizer for $50. I got a bowl of pumpkin soup and flat bread with goat cheese and a glass of wine for the same. The menu did not include any chicken or seafood dinners at all. Very limited and not great choices to be had. Disappointment for sure.
Next day:
Breakfast at Hobbit - excellent
Lunch - Cafe Bistro du Cap - all the reviews are correct. This is a hidden gem and the best we had- must go!
Dinner at Le Feu Sacre recommended by the hotel. It was good, but the steak we had in Montreal was so much better.
Next day:
Breakfast at Chez Temporel - very nice little bistro but nothing exceptional
Lunch at Bistro Sous Le Fort - very good nice location.
Dinner at Cafe Bistro du Cap - we debated Pain Beni or this and went back here and it was just amazing again!
We had deserts at L'Echaudee and Pain Beni. We bought cheese at l'Épicerie Européenne which is not to be missed and went to JA Moisan and several pastry shops which were all very French and very good.
Dinner in Quebec...which one?
Thanks for the report! My husband and I will be in Quebec in a week and will try Le Feu Sacre. You might take a look at Paillard and Chez Temporel and Cafe du Clocher Penche also.
Quebec City visit in October
My husband and I are going to do a trip to Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. We will be staying at the Marriott in Quebec . We have been to all but Quebec and need restaurant advice. Saw earlier posts for l'Épicerie Européenne for cheese and bread, Le Billig for crepes, Aux Petits Delices as a small market and cafe, Paillard for breakfast, Hobbit Bistro & Lapin Saute sounded a lot like what we are looking for. The revolving restaurant on top of the Loews le Concorde looks like fun. Pain Béni looks great but lacks atmosphere. Cafe de Monde looks interesting but got bad reviews, what do you think? Panache and Toast or similar do not interest. We like to fine a great bistro to maybe dine at the bar and meet people. Any recommendations anyone has -- restos, cafes, bars, ... they're all welcome.
Saugatuck, MI recs?
Journeyman Cafe and Blue Moon are closed. Everyday People is good but you can only get dinners. In Saugatuck Phil's, Maro's and the Butler Deck are good. Also Mermaid is excellent and right on the water. The very best restaurant around is called Hawks Nest, and is located just south of Fennville. 17 year old might like to go out to Red Dock which is between Saugatuck and Douglas....just a fun thing to do and the sandwiches are good.
Looking for good restaurants along coast of Maine
We were in Maine middle of May and were at these restaurants:
Pier 77 in Cape Porpoise- just great
MC Perkins Cove - not so great and $$$. The lobster role was $20 - I don't know where they got the bun because it wasn't even the size of a hot dog bun - tiny!
Fore Street in Portland- probably the best dinner we've ever had - exceptional
Di Millos - typical tourist dinner - my tenderloin was hard to cut but some liked their dinners
Street & Company - very nice - I had the scallops and everyone thought the dinners were good
Beverly's - nice breakfast place
Gilbert's - always good
Lobster Shacks mid coast Maine
Thanks to all for your posts! Looks like many of the restaurants are closed this time of year. I even tried Anna's Water's Edge in Sebasco Estates, which looked great, but not open until May 22. Waterman's closed and the Five....closed also. Shaw's and Cod End are two hours from Portland so that's a bit far. I think the dip net is closed up for good. Places we are going to are Pier77, MC Perkins cove, Fore St in Portland and yes DIMillos...then I wanted to go to the farmers market in Brunswick, but can't find a place to eat up north of Portland. Guess maybe will end up at Two Lights Lobster pound in Cape Elizabeth.......dosn't look like they have any scenic restaurants north of Portland that are open yet. Unless we go to Este's....would that be a mistake?
Lobster Shacks mid coast Maine
Going to be in Maine mid May.
What is better? Este's, Red's Eats, Cooks, .........Waterman's Beach and Five Islands are closed until June. Any other great restaurants on water mid coast Maine?
Which one......MC or Barnacle Billy's @ Perkins cove? Thanks!
Maine - Pemaquid Point or Georgetown area?
Was Estes good? Ever been to Harpswell Neck?
Looking for good restaurants along coast of Maine
Thanks to all.....we will be having lunch along the road from the Manchester NH airport to Portland. What are the good places in Kennebunkport? Also wanted to go a bit north, so will go to Five Islands for sure....thanks!

Restaurants in Raleigh, NC
Our son and his wife are moving to Raleigh and we would like to get them a gift certificate for Christmas to a nice restaurant. I read reviews on Fins, Nina's that said the food was good but the service and ownership were rude. What are some good restaurants in Raleigh that might compare to nice restaurants in Chicago? Bistro 607, Nana's Chop House, Bloomsbury Bistro, BakeHouse Bistro? Any seafood or Japanese places that you would recommend? Bogart's looks nice but reviews were so - so. What are your favorites?
