Stay away from Myrna's Cafe in Blue Bell

How do they stay in business?

Stay away from Myrna's Cafe in Blue Bell

Wish I had thought of that!

Stay away from Myrna's Cafe in Blue Bell

I feel so vindicated by all the responses! I hear people say how much they love this place - ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Thanks for letting me know it's not just me.

Stay away from Myrna's Cafe in Blue Bell

Probably the single worst dining experience I've ever had in my life. For starters, they have to be the rudest people in a service business I have ever encountered. But let's not even go there. I ordered rack of lamb, medium rare, and got a nasty looking plate with well done lamb chop-crap smothered in a gross looking brownish red gravy with mashed potato gook under it. When I politely protested that they were not how I ordered them, the plate was snatched away from me and RETURNED AS IS in 2 minutes with a curt "because of the way we prepare these they cannot be cooked medium rare". No offer for another choice, NOTHING. I paid the bill, walked out and will NEVER go back. STAY FAR AWAY!

Redstone American Grill, Plymouth Meeting

I was there at the end of the summer and thought the atmosphere was delightful and the food very flavorful. It's not gourmet, but more like home-cooked. I had the combo platter of roast chicken and small order of ribs. Juicy, tender and with delicious gravy and bbq sauce. Try it!

restaurants in the Poconos

Years ago we rented a house for the summer in Split Rock. Ate at a place called Close Quarters at least once a week and the chef that was there at the time was insanely good. I have no idea how it is now - probably not the same. Just a nice memory of years past!

Having a birthday - Solaris Grille?

I'm having a BIG birthday celebration and want to go to Chestnut Hill. I've been to Chestnut Hill Grille and Stella Blue looks nice, but Solaris looks like more fun. Anyone have some ideas and comments?

Lobster for anniversary in Main Line or Media area?

Legal Seafoods in King of Prussia Mall. It's so amazingly fresh - you'll feel like you're eating at the shors. Their lobster roll on brioche roll is insane.

Seafood Western Suburbs

Go to Legal Seafoods at the King of Prussia Mall. It's amazing.

As long as we're talkin' pizza - Blue Bell???

Thanks everyone! You've come to the same conclusion I have, I see.... I'll try Bacco's - sounds yummy and maybe give Dolce Luna another try. Grazie!

As long as we're talkin' pizza - Blue Bell???

We've tried Charlies in E. Norriton, and Palermo's in Center Square. Nothing is floating my pizza boat. Any good suggestions for some really good pizza in the area?

Vietnamese in Philly?

If you have the time, and want the real deal, take a ride to Atlantic City to Little Saigon at Arctic Avenue and Iowa. It is insanely good.

The Best little Mandelbrot in Town!

My mother, gone for a long time now along with the original recipe book, used to make really good mandelbrot, which was a lot like Italian Biscotti. Very hard, crunchy and had hazelnuts in them (I think!). I'm looking for a good, simple recipe to replicate it. I have a fabulous one with chocolate chips, nuts, raisins and cinn/sugar, and while I LOVE those, it's not the nostalgia I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

Chinese for Jewish Xmas Eve

In Blue Bell, Lei-Lei is decent on Route 202 and a nice family place.

Need smoked whitefish salad shipped to Vancouver!

I did try Zabar's but they only ship in US. But I'll try Russ and Daughters....thanks so much!!!

Ocean Harbor Dim Sum

Just a quick thank you for wonderful memories of Ocean Harbor - I haven't been there in about 10 years. My late husband and I had just come back from a 3 week trip to Hong Kong, and that was the closest thing to it in Philly we could find. Since he passed, I haven't had the heart to go back. Now, maybe I will. Thanks.....

PLEASE! A decent pancake mix?? [Moved from Home Cooking board]

Definitely Krusteaz. I use it all the time and it's simple and delicious!

Need smoked whitefish salad shipped to Vancouver!

So I have a friend who is A.B.C. (American Born Chinese) who LOVES Jewish style smoked whitefish salad and he can't get it anywhere in Vancouver, B.C. in Canada. I've been looking and thought I'd found it, but they won't ship there. Does anyone know of a supplier who will help this starving Buddhist???? Please help!
