Nathans hot dogs at Safeway...what varieties (Calgary)
dingdingding. Nonlinear your so right we bought some last night Nathans Hot Dogs, they weren't very good and so salty we couldn't even eat them. I love Hebrew National they are awesome hot dog. My understanding is you can't get Hebrew National anywhere in Canada anymore. I miss being in the US sometimes.

Vietnamese near Crowfoot, Calgary
we went this week to the royal oak location. I wasn't a fan but then again I didn't realize it was the same restaurant that moved from Silver Springs. Salad rolls were old sauce was old, peanuts tasted old. The only place I will go for Vietnamese that is tolerable is Bowness Vietnamese on Bowness Road. and I don't think it's that great either. Pho Hoai s the only place I go on a regular basis to get my fix and we have been eating there for 14 + years never had a bad soup experience from them, worth driving to Chinatown every time.

Thai Food in Calgary?
Yes that is the location, downstairs in the main building. My kids used to go to martial arts down there, I was very excited that we were going to get something different down there like Chili Club and the MMA moved before CC opened. lol. Anyone been yet?
We went to Thai Bistro in Chinatown Friday night, we thought it was pretty good. IT was packed and they re-cork!

I do like Happy Hill but I prefer the other location Happy Valley in Chinatown. The BBQ items are all prepared at this location. They are closed on Mondays.

I love that crepe thing with the peanut and hoisin.. I also really like their baked rice with pork chop. It is usually really good.
best pizza in calgary?
Just a heads up Verns on 17th SW closed officially Nov 27th. My husband loves Verns and stopped by for a slice and the door was locked. The owner came to the door, they were only doing delivery for the rest of the evening. Said they were finished and gave him some slices they had leftover from the afternoon. Said Corp Saskatchewan Verns hadn't once been to Calgary to check up on things and that the SE store is doing their own thing changed up the recipe making the crust thinner and changing ingredients....

Funny thing is, my sister who lives in Ancaster ON is coming this evening on Westjet with a Spanish Bar cake from the bakery listed on the above link you mentioned. I cant' wait.
But I will try the recipe again and make my adjustments. I was just hoping that a bakery sold one here, as running back and forth to the hospital and having teenagers it doesn't leave much time to myself to be baking ;)
Spanish Bar Cake
Anyone know if any bakeries in Calgary that make a Spanish Bar Cake. My sister who is terminally ill is just wanting some and I tried a few recipes off the net but can't find one that tastes like the one they made at Sobey's/IGA or the Jane Parker one you could get years ago.
I called Sobey's this morning and they don't have the spice cake mix they used for this cake and can no longer get the spice cake mix.
Log Barn 1912 - Calgary
We had blueberry pie from the Calgary location...it was warm when we brought it home it was.....the best pie I have had in Calgary. All the other pies were frozen ready to bake, and my husband only got the blueberry because it was warm...but it was fantastic.
Bought sausage and Gouda but haven't got to that yet. Ohhh also bought the rootbeer, vanilla, and black cherry cola...they are from the states but they were okay.

Just had shawarma at The Chick Pea on 8th today....thought it was decent.
Apparently there is a line up everyday at lunch out the door, we went at 1:30 and nobody was around...one thing...it's hotter then HE double hockey sticks in there.
I grabbed the menu with prices. they are open Mon-Fri 10 -5 pm.

Where to eat in Waterton Lakes
Excellent. ....at least one of us will get the veggie burger. We never all get the same thing that way we play musical plates. We will plan on day 1 at Vimy's day 2 at Waterton Pizza. Thanks!

Best Burger in Calgary?
Wow we went to Burger Inn on last Monday evening. It was packed. We were a party of 4 and all decided to get something different so we could pass them around.
We had been there before and weren't very impressed, but got the bug again after watch Burger Inn on "Eat, Shrink and Be Merry"
All 4 burgers were terible. All of them were dry. We also order the extra special poutine with the fried onion and bacon. Horrible. We had a good chuckle as we left they have a Calgary's #1 burger certificate. lol!

Happy Valley +1, it's the only BBQ I found to be consistent as well.
