Best Bakery in Chinatown and what to buy?
I haven' t been to all of the bakeries in Chinatown but have Portuguese egg tart eating experience :) The only bakery I know that carries it is Great Taste. IMHO-It's very very good-comparable to what I had in Macau and HK. The way to distinguish it from regular egg tarts, if there are no English labels, is that the Portuguese egg tarts are the ones with a little char on top which is from an almost creme brulee-like topping. Yeah I thought about that but 14 or even 12 is a lot. Plus more places use those rectangular plastic containers than anything else.
Cheap foil pans in Boston
So I'm looking to make a 14-layer cake for a friend (http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2009/02/fourteen-for-fourteenth.html) and need to get foil pans. I'm trying to avoid having the pans cost more than the cake ingredients. Does anyone know where I can get some reasonably priced foil pans in the area? I'm thinking something of the dollar store nature...
Best Sunday brunch/lunch in Englewood
I will be in Englewood on a Sunday and am looking for a nice place to bring bf's parents for lunch.
Looking for recommendations to a nice restaurant serving either brunch or lunch in the Englewood area. It can be more formal (cloth napkins etc.) or upper end casual but really good food. We'll have a car so I think anything within a 10 mile radius would be alright but do not plan to go into NYC for lunch.
Ones that have caught my attention are Grissini, Nisi, Buongiorno's, Solaia, and Vespa's. Would love suggestions or affirmations that these are good places. Thanks!

Actually Downtown doesn't have it. They must have misheard me on the phone...was super disappointed but they did have a couple of other schwartz beers and suggested an alternative. I'm in the city w/o a car so haven' t ventured our to Acton but thanks for the suggestion.

Peking Duck 2009
I am taking some co-workers to Peking Duck and have been doing as much research as I can on Peking Duck in Boston as none of my friends have had it up here. We will be traveling via T so we need to stay somewhat central to Boston. It seems that Chef Chang's, King Fung Garden II and New King Fung are the places that have popped up most. Unfortunately, reviews are a little dated and I was hoping to get some updated reviews on the Peking Duck at the establishments, esp. with some of them under new management. Also, I am wondering if they have appropriate atmospheres for sit-down dinners. Nothing formal but clean and decent atmosphere.

Help with Pizza in Needham
I'm not sure how close you are to the Needham Highlands stop but O'Hara's has a REALLY amazing buffalo chicken pizza and I can only guess what they regular tastes like. You can't order it by the slice but you can do takeout. I am not sure if they are open for lunch though.
Where can I find Coppenrath Gewürz Spekulatius?
Does anyone know where, in the Boston-area, I can find Coppenrath Gewürz Spekulatius? They are German spiced windmill cookies and I know they are only available at select retailers if at all. I can get it from a couple of places online, but the cost for shipping and handling is so extraordinary that I am trying to find it locally first. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a note that you should not replace wax paper in cases where you are exposing the paper to the open air because unlike parchment, wax paper will burn.

Who's selling mangosteen?
I haven't seen them around. Did so in NYC last summer and got really excited. However, I was wary to spend so much money on them because when I was in Spain last summer, I bought about 3 mangosteens and 2 of the 3 were bad (and you couldn't tell from the outside). However, the one that was good was a-mazing! I suspect they were frozen before or something..not sure of the science behind it. Just be cautious when purchasing but do post when you find any in the area!
