somewhere to take clients in dallas
Hello Texas, apologies for the very broad nature of this post, but I am coming into Dallas from NYC for the first time and need a little help--I'm looking for somewhere to take my clients (also not from Dallas) for dinner this weekend. Nothing too dressy, or too fussy, but somewhere with great, maybe even local, unpretentious food. Along the lines of a Prune or a Five Points in NYC, if anyone is familiar with those places. I know this is vague--but if anyone wants to tell me their favorites, I'd appreciate it! I'm staying at The Joule, if that makes a difference...Thanks!
fishmarket/monger in sunnyside
Anyone have any recommendations for a quality seller of fish in Sunnyside? I live in the Gardens but can roam to find one--just need somewhere with decent fish!
Comfortable but delicious business dinner
Just called them--sadly they only seat large parties (we're 6 people) at 5:30 or 8, and i think we've got to get in inbetween those hours....
Comfortable but delicious business dinner
New Yorker coming into Chicago for dinner with clients. I've searched the boards and seen a lot of great-sounding places, but thought I'd post what specifically I am looking for and maybe narrow down the sea of recommendations (excuse me while I mix my metaphors)....Trying to find a place that is great local seasonal food, but in a fairly relaxed atmosphere--I've never met some of the people I am dining with so trying to avoid somewhere too fussy and awkward. Neighborhood and price aren't too much of an issue--what's the most interesting place to eat? I want somewhere appropriately amazing to demonstrate my great taste (as in, you-guys-on-the-boards's great taste) but somewhere unintimidating where everyone can relax. Where am I talking about?
Annisa attire
Going for dinner tonight--are jeans acceptable? Thanks in advance for any help--I hate that sinking feeling when you walk in over- or underdressed....
New to Woodside--need some recos!
I ordered a whole large Grandma pie last night, ate as much as I could, and am saving the rest in my freezer--beats Tombstone, any evening...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
So as of now, the Stop Inn and their hash browns are making me so happy--being from the Midwest, I had a taste for the Denny's/IHOP shredded style hashbrowns, and had despaired of finding good ones in NYC--I have had breakfast nowhere else in the 'hood since my first trip to the Stop Inn...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
Thanks everybody! These recommendations are much appreciated...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
Wow. Thanks, Woodside Al. I have my work cut out for me, in the best way possible. If you see a guy staggering down Roosevelt with a Chowhound printout in his hand, it's likely me, come up and say hello. This is great information. I am already loving the area, and this only helps...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
Jalapenos in soy sauce sounds fantastic. I am going to have to stock up upon my return from Thanksgiving vacation...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
I went into that place, I was so impressed by the fresh tofu and all the kimchi. I haven't unpacked my dishes yet so the microwave will be useful. Han Au Reum, something like that, correct?
New to Woodside--need some recos!
Yes, the map is fantastic--I am working on getting it on my iPod...
New to Woodside--need some recos!
Hey, thanks, guys--I will report back. I think I had a slice at Peppino's after I signed my lease, but it wasn't the Grandma, which I will look forward to....
New to Woodside--need some recos!
I moved to Woodside recently and love it--have had Sripraphai, La Flor, Donovan's, and La Hacienda. The obvious ones, I guess. Done some searching of posts and cobbled together an idea of where to hit, but would love recommendations from everyone, I am already turning into a fierce 7 train partisan and the more I know, the better I can argue my point....Thanks in advance, I am a fish-eating vegetarian (what do they call that, a pescetarian?) but have plenty of carnivorous friends to impress, so any recommendations are welcome. Including exactly WHAT to order at the places mentioned above...
Japanese Breakfast?
I have asked this before but I am hoping something has changed since I last asked--traditional Japanese breakfast, available anywhere in the 5 boroughs? Any help is very appreciated.
