Park East Bistro - Hazlet

Has anyone been there recently? I'm wondering what the menu is like and if it's any good... Thanks!

Baby shower location Monmouth County

I'm looking for suggestions for places to have a brunch/lunch for about 30-40 people. I looked at menus for McLoones and The Falls already, but am drawing a blank about other places. Any suggestions would be great.

Manow or Siam Smiles

Want to take my friend out for Thai for her birthday. She loves thai and has tried it all over. I am new to thai and don't want anything too spicy. Should we try Siam Smiles or Manow?

Park East in Hazlet?

The Steak Exchange is gone from Rt 35 (Southbound side) and has been replaced by what I think is called Park East Bistro. Does anyone know anything about it?

Cheesesteaks in Monmouth County?

I'm from Philly and have been craving a really good cheesesteak...Is there such a thing around here? The Midtown has a great steak sandwich, but it's not the same...Any recommendations would be great!

Private Party at McDonough's?

Thanks! Guess that's what I get for spelling it wrong!!! :)

Private Party at McDonough's?

Does anyone know if McDonough's in Keyport does private parties? They have no website which makes things challenging.

lasagna

After watching Bobby Flay's Lasagna throwdown, I need lasagna. Where's the best Lasagna in the Monmouth Co.?

Burger Joes? Rt. 36

I was driving home (west on 36 near Pt. Monmouth) and saw Burger Joes (I think) near Romeo's new location. Is it new? Has anyone been? How was it?

Ocean Avenue Grill - Sea Bright, NJ

I'm not sure if there are newer posts on this place since their new chef started. We were there once with the other chef and weren't impressed, but my in-laws went for NYE and loved it so we went back. We had a great experience. Granted, we went on Thursday when it was ridiculously windy and the place was empty.
We sat at a high-top in the bar and had excellent, attentive service from the bartender as our server. My husband loved his roasted tomato and fennel soup with croutons. I had the Ocean's salad which was delicious. Then my husband had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf. He said it was good, but not great. It was presented nicely, but he prefers a more flavorful meatloaf and lumpier potatoes. I had the roasted chicken which was lovely. The portion was huge - not sure if that's because the place was empty. But, the chicken was tasty, the roasted potatoes and broccoli were delicious too. We split the cheesecake for dessert - my husband's choice, since I'm not a huge fan. But, it was amazing!! I'm no cheesecake expert since I rarely eat it, but this was light and creamy with a buttery, sugary graham cracker crust. We will definitely go back.

Sunday brunch near Cort Theater

We're hoping to do brunch before a show on an upcoming Sunday. We rarely go to brunch in Manhattan...Where do you suggest we try? We need to be finished by 1:30 so that means either a place that takes reservations, moves quickly or starts brunch on the early side. Any suggestions?

restaurant for party of 30-40, keeping cost low

We had our rehearsal dinner at the black sheep pub in philly and friends had a price fix dinner there too. There is a room with it's own bar and the food is yummy.

porcini or branzino?

Which do you reccomend and why?

Best burger in the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill area?

I think you'll have more like on the Pennsylvania board, but... I am from that area and live in NJ now so I saw your post. My favorite for burgers and cheeseteaks especially is Fatty's on Willow Grove Avenue. They changed their fries, which used to be awesome waffle fries, but everything else is still really good.

Rigoletto Trattoria, Middletown

Has anyone been? How is it? I think I've been turned off by the location, but the menu looks decent...

bagels that aren't enormous?

I'm bring bagels for a work gathering and would love to find a place that has good smaller bagels. I'm tired of the gigantic bagels at most places. If you know of anywhere near Hazlet, Holmdel, Middletown or Tinton Falls that does small bagels I'd appreciate hearing about it!

bar for private party?

Looking for a bar in Monmouth County - more pubish than manhattan-like - to have a birthday party for 30-50 people. I love the look/feel of McDonough's in Keyport but don't think they have an area for a party. I'd like a private area, ideally with it's own bar, and decent food. Any ideas?

Private or Semi-Private Dining Area for Group of 15-20 in Monmouth County, NJ

Midtown Restaurant in Middletown http://midtownrestaurantnj.net/

best produce?

Where do you like to go for produce in the Middletown/Holmdel area? I can usually count on Dearborn for decent prices, but I've been charged with bringing fruit for a large group so I want to find good quality too. I'm in the market for a good watermelon in particular. Thanks!

Osteria Dante in Red Bank

This place doesn't get a lot of good reviews on here, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I've only been there twice. Once was this past New Years - aside from my complete annoyance that we waited an hour and a half for a table (with a reservation) we had a great time. The service was excellent - in fact, our waitress made everyone forget how angry we were about waiting. Our food was really delicious all around too. I hope more people go and enjoy it.

Pizza from Yesterdays in Hazlet?

My dad just called to say the fam will be up to visit tonight and that we should just get take-out pizza. I've been to Yesterdays once and I was disappointed with my spaghetti dish. Is the pizza good? I'm trying to think of a nearby place for pizza that is above average if not tasty. Please tell me your thoughts on Yesterdays or suggest some place better. Thanks!

kirsten's in lebanon?

Has anyone been to kirsten's italtian grill in Lebanon? It looks yummy, but I'd love to hear from people who have been there. Also, any similar but better suggestions would be great if you didn't love it there.
Thanks!

GREAT food near Somerville?

It's for dinner. Thanks!

Good, simple food for Dad?

We are taking my father-in-law to dinner on Sunday and I'm having a hard time deciding. His usual places of choice are Charlies in Sea Bright (I think), Val's in Rumson and the Midtown in Middletown. I'm looking for something along those lines...good, simple food - possibly a great burger (not barnacle's please) or pork chops etc. BYOB or not...Any suggestions would be appreciated!

GREAT food near Somerville?

I live in Hazlet, NJ and am hoping to meet friends halfway between there and Bethlehem, PA which seems to be Somerville, Whitehouse Station etc. If you know somewhere in that area that has really good food (but doesn't require a jacket etc...) I would love to know about it. I don't want to drive out there for something mediocre... Thanks so much.

New Restaurants in Atlantic Highlands

it's right down on the water, by the docks...

New Restaurants in Atlantic Highlands

My husband mentioned that the building at the end of 1st ave (?) in Atlantic Highlands, which has been a few restaurants has been bought by the owners of 2 existing restaurants who will open 2 new places in that building. I know that's vague, which is why I'm hoping for any info you have. My husband got my hopes up and then didn't have the info to back it up!

Cinghiale

We were there on Wednesday night and I wished I'd known we were going and read these posts first. We were in Baltimore for JHU graduation and others chose this restaurant for our group. I will say that no one was blown away, but for various reasons (some more valid than others). The place is lovely and our server was friendly, efficient and patient (we are a difficult group). Unforunately, none of the food wowed me...I looked on the online menu just now so that I could remember the names etc of what I had, but it's a different menu than we were offered this week. I had a salad with greens and reggiano that was far too heavily dressed for my day and absolutely the worst risotto I have ever had. It was sloppily presented and remarkably undercooked (unless I'm really confused about risotto?). It was supposed to be risotto with day boat scallops and spring peas. I ordered the full version which had maybe 4 THIN slices of scallop and the "risotto" was barely cooked rice swimming in sauce. We ordered an asparagus salad that the waiter recommended (as he did the risotto) but it never came. My husband and a few others were disappointed with the portion size, but are not necessarily accustomed to eating traditional Italian, nor "fancier" food. I hope other people have had better experiences...mine was not one I would want to repeat.
