Charlotte dinner- fun atmosphere excellent food
My friends have been to Roosters many times (I asked)....so, I'd like to do something different for them.
What are the recent opinions of Harvest Moon Grill and Customshop?

Carolinadawg,
Heard anything about 5church?
Charlotte dinner- fun atmosphere excellent food
I'll be in town next Wednesday night and would like to take a couple to dinner (they live in Charlotte). They live in the Myers Park area but we don't have to stay that close to that.
Not sure what they like but I would like fun atmosphere (i.e. not stuffy) with excellent food.
Local chefs are good; farm to table perhaps; bistro maybe....
No italian or asian.
I don't want to spend $400 for the four of us, but $200-$250 would be good (incl. drinks and tip).
DC/MD Style chinese food and subs
Please define "fake food".
That would help us help you.
Park 75 chef's table?
Read your post yesterday and my Atlanta magazine arrived.

We'll be interested to see how it goes for you.
Debate for a Foodie coming to Atlanta
I like it and think you will like it. Same group as Bacchanalia, so right next door.
Just not on the train line...so you would need to take a cab there....but if you did that you could go and do your first courses at Abbatoir (try a few things) and then head to Bacchanalia and finish up with main dishes.
You sound like someone who likes to try things and eat. Good for you.
Debate for a Foodie coming to Atlanta
With one day to roam without a car, I'm not sure I'd waste all that money on taxis (for Bacchanalia and Eugene).
During the day at lunch I would take the train to Decatur. Visit Leon's, 246, Tacqueria, Brickstore...have a few bites in each place. It's a nice area to walk.
For dinner a great spot near the MARTA line is Empire State South....and while Bacchanalia and Eugene are good for sure, I actually a place like ESS, so you can taste a lot of things.
Suggestion for fine dining near Sheraton Downtown Atlanta
Sadly MARTA doesn't go to Sea Island.
Relatively speaking Bacchanalia isn't that far from downtown....the train doesn't go there.
Eugene is excellent (superior to Bacchanalia) in my humble opinion (no train there either).
You could try Woodfire Grill grand tasting ($90). I've wanted to do that. Again, no train.
The only one I can think of near the train line is 246 in Decatur. You can do the "chef's counter" for $50. That is fun. Drew the chef is a nice guy.
Restaurant for rehearsal dinner
These are all relatively close to Peachtree and 17th:
Table 1280 is at the High Museum
Tamarind
Cucina Asellina (new place)
Empire State South
Tap (beer, nicer bar atmosphere)
La Pietra Cucina
Veni Vidi Vici
Sufi's (Persian)
STK (new hip steak joint---depends on your crowd--young guests will love it)
Check out Crescent Ave. (a few places to choose from)
grilled portobello caps
Want to grill portobello caps this weekend for vegetarian guests.
Any thoughts on marinade, grilling, final prep, etc.?
Thanks.
Atlanta for one day - lunch in Buckhead area
They are in the middle of renovations, so they may still be closed.
That's a bummer.
Try their other restaurant Local Three....not that far from Smyrna, depending on where you are.
Just around the corner. Where is the place to eat before/after a Braves game?
I gave it a try and will not again.
Good but $13 bucks? Not that good. Sorry.
Will take a double McCann burger any day of the week over that.
Portsmouth: Best Spot for Afternoon Tea, (Tomorrow!)?
There is a good little place on the square...can't remember the name.
Popovers on the Square?
Can't remember.
Anything decent in Macon, Georgia?
"Decent"....be flexible.
H & H, southern soul food
Nu-Way Weiners (chain hot dogs but it's something)
Fish N' Pig....decent spot with nice water view with outdoor porch

Italian wedding soup--what else for dinner party?
A friend of mine is making Italian wedding soup for a dinner party this weekend (8 people). I don't think there will be pasta in his version.
The rest of us need to bring other items....what would go well to make this a meal?
Pasta course?
Big salad with bread and cheeses?
Antipasti platter?
Dessert of course

Need Some ATL Recs Near Downtown Marta Stop...Going to Game at Goergia Dome
I would for sure research Decatur. Easy stop on MARTA (requires change train from the north but if you have time it's worth it).
Need Some ATL Recs Near Downtown Marta Stop...Going to Game at Goergia Dome
You have many options near the dome from the MARTA. Check out the "Lucky/Marietta District".
The only issue is "decent" food is all you will get. Near the dome you're not going to get better than Ok food. If you want better food, plan earlier stops along the MARTA in midtown or Decatur.
Downtown options:
Stats
Der Biergarten
Dantannas
Taco Mac (you have kids with you)
Midtown:
Bunch of restaurantsbars/pubs near Arts Center and Midtown stations
Decatur:
Brickstore
Leons
Raging Burrito

Check out South City Kitchen and/or Muss and Turners.
First visit to Atlanta

late night cheap eats
You might also consider the 11th St. Six Feet Under. Easy to get to.
The Noni's neighborhood could be considered "rough" with only street parking available. I've never been at that time of day.
late night cheap eats
Are you coming south on 75 or 85 before you head to florida south of town?
That will help with your choices.
late night cheap eats
How late?
Like Waffle House late or do you mean like 10-11?
How far are you willing to venture off the interstate?
Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
Lunacy is not the best meal you will ever eat, but it's cheap and unique to the area.
Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
Lunacy is really under the radar. If you get there at 6, even 5:45, I bet you get in there easily.
You could also check Room at Twelve or Peasant Bistro, both near your venue.
Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
Lunacy Black Market.
Not sure you can walk but it's a two minute cab ride.
Get there when they open. They don't take reservations.
Visiting The Villages, FL and looking for good restaurants
I was just there on Saturday with the family.....not sure it's very chow worthy, but I'm hoping we can find something. We'll be driving through there frequently.
Please share...anyone?
