News on Cabana Laguna Beach/Alt recs?
I'm a former OC chowhound, now in St. Louis. I'm coming back for a visit this weekend, eagerly making my list of restaurants to visit. Sadly, I see that one of my old favorites, the Cabana in Laguna Beach, is closed for the time being. Does anyone know the scoop? And, if it won't be open soon, do you have any alternate recs in OC, preferably in the Laguna/Newport/Irvine enclave? I'm looking for great fish. Thank you!
Late Lunch Recs Near Library Bar?
Could someone please suggest a place to grab a late Saturday lunch near Library Bar downtown? I believe it's around 6th/Hope? Thanks!
Good lunch near Staples Center
We will be in town for a convention and are looking for a nice place to have a reunion lunch with a few former coworkers. Ideally, we'd like to stick to downtown near the convention center, within a walk or short cab ride. Also, it needs to be open Saturday lunch. I love Cafe Pinot, and I hear the Palm is close (but overrated). Any suggestions? Thanks!
Any leads on STL morels?
Glorious morel season is fastly approaching, and I'm already jonesing. Does anyone know of good purveyors of morels in the St. Louis or Metro East areas? I'm too uncertain of my own picking abilities, so I'd be willing to pay for them. Any leads greatly appreciated!
Cincy with kids
Traveling to Cincinnati with a 2-year-old this week (Tues-Fri). We are staying in the northeast part of the city. We'd like to try some local food (i.e. no chains), but want to make sure the places we go would be okay with a fickle toddler. Any ethnicity is fine. Thanks!
Good breakfast in CBD
We're looking for good and affordable breakfast recs in CBD. Staying at the Loews, so anything within walking distance. Also would like some good bakery/coffee place recs for those days we want lighter fare (i.e. coffee and a beignet). Thanks!
Affordable second honeymoon
We are traveling down to NOLA for our 10th anniversary, and would like recs for authentic and affordable romantic eats. Our plan is to do traditional fare/nothing fancy for lunches, and something a bit more romantic for dinners. We'd like to keep our food budget under $100 a day if possible. We're staying in CBD, but are willing to explore. Ideas? Also, would particularly love places with NO kids' menu. :) Thanks!
