I really love Esca on 43rd off 9th. You will need reservation. I wish you continued good news and health! |

Bay Ridge This Sunday / Brunch/Lunch Never been there for brunch but their food is good and owner always there. Also they have valet parking another plus. |

Just last night I had pasta with sea urchin and crabmeat at Esca. I wanted more the second it was all gone. It was so delicious. |

Going out on Valentine's weekend. Ugh. Our anniversary is 2/15. We will be married 26 years. In all of those years we have never run into a Valentine's Day menu or anything of the sort on 2/15. |

Get an archive of today's Lenny Lopate show. There was someone on there who was talking all about making different types of stock. WNYC 93.9 FM. |

Same here. I am finding myself in 3 and 4 stores and still not getting all I need. I actually went to the one in Westbury a couple of weeks ago. |

With all due respect to you OP, I think you need to air your grievances on a parent's board. You were treated poorly no doubt. But there are people (those with children included) who want time at a restaurant to eat and drink without being around children. As for this policy in a restaurant, hey they make more money on cocktails than juice. |

High quality chocolates for a party - suggestions appreciated. I am invited to a party in a swell part of town and was told not to bring any alcohol or flowers so chocolate seems the thing. Russell Stover won't cut it here folks. Any suggestions for great chocolates? I was thinking Nunu. Thank you! |

Chow meet up tomorrow AM at Four & Twenty Blackbirds? My brother came over Saturday and we did just what you are describing, got 4 pieces of pie and sampled them. Have a delicious time! |

Given where you are coming from and the parking requirement I would try The Pearl Room in Bay Ridge. Their food is good IMO and they have valet parking. The big girl comfort factor is definitely met as well. Just double check that it is available for their brunch. |

In that post they specifically say they are scheduled to open in March. |

Best place to buy shrimp in Brooklyn? The fish market on 7th Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets in the middle of the block lists where their shrimp is from. I live closer to the 8th Avenue Chinese grocers and travel to Park Slope to get my fish from 7th Avenue. It is more expensive but I feel better about where the fish is coming from. |

Gift certificate to restaurant Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope We want to give a gift certificate from our office to a doctor who lives in Brooklyn Heights. Any suggestions for a nice restaurant in Brooklyn Heights or Park Slope? They like chicken, veggies and pasta. Asian and Italian fit the bill. Thank you. |

This place is on SI and they supply many of the gourmet shops all over the city. You can order it on line and have it delivered. |

Desserts/Bakeries/Sweets in/around Sunset Park (Bay Ridge, Boro Park, etc) They have it at Samia's also in Bay Ridge on 3rd Ave around 80th street. Not as good as Family Store IMO. |

Best selection of champagne for sale (store) in Park Slope/Prospect Heights? Astor Wines has free delivery if you purchase over $100 to Brooklyn every Wednesday and Saturday. Order on line delivery to your door. We order from there once a month. |

Looking for: breakfast in Staten Island You might try this place. It used to be the Comfort Diner, which was quite nice for breakfast. These people took over and serve breakfast. It is pretty close to the Arden Avenue exit on 440 |

Great new restaurants in Brooklyn? I am admittedly not a pizza fanatic but I had the truffle, egg and pancetta pizza at Monte's on Carroll Street between 3rd and Nevins Street this weekend and was tempted to go back the next day to get it again. Really really delicious and made in a wood burning oven. They had a number of other pizza selections. I will be going back very soon. ----- |

This might not be what you are looking for but I go for a massage in SoHo a couple of times a year and look forward to their "quiet room" where they have herbal teas and dried fruits, etc. Believe me I am not an herbal tea drinker (and usually leave there and head directly to Balthazar for a cappuccino) but they have a tea at this spa that I always look forward to drinking. The last time I was there there was none left in the canister and I expressed my disappointment and upon leaving they gave me a box of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea which is what it was all along. It is spicy and delicious. I have purchased many boxes after that and I am hooked. Good luck! |

1970-80's Queen Pizza - Brooklyn Absolutely remember it! We took the train from Union & 4th to go to Queen. One night we were walking with our pizza down State Street where we happened upon a dance at the Greek school with a live band. Ate our pizza and then went to the dance! |

Thank you so much! |

Going to a show on Bleecker Street on Saturday night and want to drop in on Balthazar for their after hours fare around midnight or 1/2 past. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a table or seat at the bar (2) at that time? Thank you! ----- |

I went to Fleisher's last week for the first time. Excellent products, immaculate shop, helpful and friendly counter people. A great addition. |

Spinoff from great restaurants in Staten Island topic Dosa Garden got a lot of press a while back. I know it's not the same as a firebrand chef but I have friends who were going from Manhattan via ferry to go there. ----- |

Are there any great restaurants in Staten Island? I ate here once and it was a very nice meal. Definitely get the chocolate souffle if you go. The best of luck to your friend. ----- |
