Looking for: breakfast in Staten Island
You might try this place. It used to be the Comfort Diner, which was quite nice for breakfast. These people took over and serve breakfast. It is pretty close to the Arden Avenue exit on 440

Great new restaurants in Brooklyn?
I am admittedly not a pizza fanatic but I had the truffle, egg and pancetta pizza at Monte's on Carroll Street between 3rd and Nevins Street this weekend and was tempted to go back the next day to get it again. Really really delicious and made in a wood burning oven. They had a number of other pizza selections. I will be going back very soon.

herbal tea
This might not be what you are looking for but I go for a massage in SoHo a couple of times a year and look forward to their "quiet room" where they have herbal teas and dried fruits, etc. Believe me I am not an herbal tea drinker (and usually leave there and head directly to Balthazar for a cappuccino) but they have a tea at this spa that I always look forward to drinking. The last time I was there there was none left in the canister and I expressed my disappointment and upon leaving they gave me a box of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea which is what it was all along. It is spicy and delicious. I have purchased many boxes after that and I am hooked. Good luck!
1970-80's Queen Pizza - Brooklyn
Absolutely remember it! We took the train from Union & 4th to go to Queen. One night we were walking with our pizza down State Street where we happened upon a dance at the Greek school with a live band. Ate our pizza and then went to the dance!
Balthazar after hours
Going to a show on Bleecker Street on Saturday night and want to drop in on Balthazar for their after hours fare around midnight or 1/2 past. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a table or seat at the bar (2) at that time? Thank you!

I went to Fleisher's last week for the first time. Excellent products, immaculate shop, helpful and friendly counter people. A great addition.
Spinoff from great restaurants in Staten Island topic
Dosa Garden got a lot of press a while back. I know it's not the same as a firebrand chef but I have friends who were going from Manhattan via ferry to go there.

Are there any great restaurants in Staten Island?
I ate here once and it was a very nice meal. Definitely get the chocolate souffle if you go. The best of luck to your friend.

more Brooklyn Fairway disappointment
I would like to point out to this community a problem that I have been having at the Red Hook Fairway. I go every Friday morning about 10:00 a.m. They don't change their circular sale signs by that time and just about every week you are charged full price on something that is marked less. When something is on sale starting that Friday you are often charged the non-sale price at the register. This has happened I would say 3 times a month and it is often enough to send out a warning to others shopping there. I have a supermarket across the street from my apartment. I go to Fairway for sale items and of course other things, but if I want to pay higher prices I can just walk across the street. Sometimes a price dispute is met by nastiness from the cashier which is also uncalled for.
Bay Ridge
You'll manage to find places to eat but as far as food shopping, not good.
Local bee pollen
Does anyone know if Rooftop at Union Square sells bee pollen or any other place that sells local bee pollen?
Fresh Sardines?
Seabreeze Fish Market 40th and 9th. Also, try Seabreeze on 18th Avenue & 85th Street in Brooklyn
Late dinner after Shakespeare in the Park?
No limits on price, neighborhood, or cuisine. I think the show ends around 11:00. Thank you!
Late dinner after Shakespeare in the Park?
Any recommendations in that neighborhood? Last year we couldn't get seated by the time we left the park.
Italian comfort food from the 60's please? NYC
Two Toms was closed for about a week for renovations to the kitchen. They have not closed down. IMO, you don't go to Two Toms for pasta dishes, you go for the meat dishes.

more Brooklyn Fairway disappointment
My biggest disappointment with Fairway is that ALL of their shrimp comes from Asia. I do most of my shopping at Fairway and buy shrimp on 7th Avenue.
Elegant food favor for a Communion Party?
Is there a Jacques Torres in Queens? Went to a wedding at the River Cafe and they gave out a 4 piece box of Jacques Torres chocolates at the end of the wedding as a favor. Great way to end a fabulous affair.

Two Toms in Brooklyn
A front? Wait outside at dinner time and ask the cops and lawyers who have just eaten there if the place is a front. It is open at the same time other restaurants are usually open for dinner.
OP it is the same place it has always been, just the way you remember it.
Greek Store in Bay Ridge
A & S Greek Deli & Butcher at 7918 5th avenue across the street from Long's liquor store is clean and has excellent Greek provisions. Hellas on 87th & 4th has gone out of business.
Ronnybrook Farms Egg Nog need before Saturday
