Occasion Brunch in Nassau County
Looking for a great place for a brunch with 25-ish people for a 50th Anniversary party.
They're not foodies, so probably fairly traditional american is best.
La Marmite has been thrown out as an option, but looking for a range to talk to... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

State Park - Nehalem & Valley of Rogue
Hi all!
First time in the area and very excited! Have my Portland choices down, but struggling with 2 road-trip spots
I am going to be doing some stereotypical camping things in the Nehalem bay state park area and then in Valley of the Rogue.
What are the must eats in the area for either takeing out (campfire cooking, etc) or eating in?

Hot & Sour in Financial District
Sick as a dog, and Hot & Sour soup is all that I'm craving.
Chinatown is just a little bit too far away from me. Is there anyplace in the financial district worth noting? I'm across from Century 21, but up for travelling a few blocks in any direction.

Wine (with Coffee?) and Work
Looking for someplace either South Slope/Gowanas/Carroll Gardens-ish to sit down by myself later tonight and have some wine and do some work. If it has coffee too, even better.
My ideal is Red Horse, but they close too early.
Was thinking of either Vin Rouge or Black Lodge (might have the name wrong... the place on Union near the Gowanas) but don't know if either is the right atmosphere for taking out the 'ole laptop.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

It's lunch, unfortunately. Price isn't really a consideration... and I'd like to stay in South Brooklyn (Park Slope to Coney Island/Bay Ridge)

A friend of mine is coming in from manhattan to my "scary" brooklyn abode. One of the ways I got her to make the trip was promising to go to Di Fara's Pizza.
Which is closed on Monday!
So, I need a replacement quickly. Doesn't have to be pizza. Just something quindecentially Brooklyn. And that's open on Monday.
