Best hot chocolate in Baltimore?

Pitango in Fells Point

Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore

I think the food is very good. We tend to hit the brunch most often but their dinners are great as well. I don't find it to be too expensive at all. They try to source local ingredients as much as possible. The menu changes often. I would say it is worth keeping the reservation.

Good gluten-free pizza in Baltimore?

BOP in the heart of Fells Point serves traditional pizzas and gluten free as well. I really like their food but have not personally tried GF item(s)

JFX Farmer's Market 2011!

Spoke to Pea Man today. Fresh peas either next Sunday or def. the Sunday after.

JFX Farmer's Market 2011!

The one I had was just mozzarella and sauce. It was about 7 or 8 inches. They had some other options but I always try the plain first at a new place.

JFX Farmer's Market 2011!

The wood fired pizza was good. It was made in a parking lot in a mobile oven so I am not even going to try to compare it to some of my other favorite pies in the world but it was good. Nice char on the crust and sauce and mozz were nice.

Noticed the Curry Shack also raised the prices on their patties. Now $2.50

I remember when they were $1.50.

Still good as ever but I wonder at what price they become too expensive.

Five "Blissful Bites"

Oh. I am a Marylander, and I have eaten crabs all my life. Never heard of that term.

What is a Maryland Dirty Crab?

Deviled Eggs

Parsley and scallions (I think) lots of garlic and anchovies. Maybe some lemon juice.

Deviled Eggs

2 Amy's have them and they are outstanding. Comes with a green sauce on the side that is quite good.

One Pot, One Knife

For one pot, I would also consider a pressure cooker. Without the lid, you can use it like any other pot.

And with the lid on, you can make tons of quick stews, soups, stocks, etc under pressure.

If you take the Pleasant Street exit (it is the left exit right before the end of 83 south) you will run into it.

Amazing Soft pretzel in Baltimore

"literally just across the street" will get you soaked ,as that would put you in the water.

Woof, Woof, at least now you are suggesting places that are actually open for business and that you may have been to (unlike Quarry Bagels that you love so much but is still very much under construction)

Best bagels MD?

Quarry Bagels is not open. Has never been opened. So most likely does not have the best anything.

Kosher in DC (not Shomer)

I think this would be better to post on the Kosher board.

Kabab Stop in Mt. Washington

I still get delivery often at work and when I have the chance I really like their buffet.

Very solid in my opinion.

Best Wine Store for Excellent Buying Advice/Guidance?

Yes, that was Rick's store.

They decided to split up and Rick opened the new place.

Best Wine Store for Excellent Buying Advice/Guidance?

You don't even have to leave Old Town. . . .

Check out Au Domaine. Owned by Rick (formerly of Rick's Wine and Gourmet) and his wife. They have limited hours (I think Wed to Sat or something, but he always brings in the best wines. Google the name and you can find directions.

Are there really no superlative breakfast options in Alexandria?

Baltimore is much closer than NJ, and is very much a breakfast town.

Jasa Kabob in Canton?

I have had delivery twice now.

Great addition to the area. Had chicken kabobs, a daily special that was chicken and spinach curry (really good) with all the traditional sides.

Everything so far has been great.

Meat pies in Baltimore vicinity?

At the JFX Farmers Market (and Waverly as well) The Curry Shack makes great meat and veggie pasties. West Indian patties (made with turkey and nice and spicy) are a standout. They mix them up every week.

Obviously not "pie" sized, but really good.

JFX Farmer's Market 2009

Turn the oven to 400

Let it heat up for 10 minutes.

Put the peas on a platter.

Walk slowly through the kitchen with the platter in your hands.

Serve and eat.

Pitango Gelato to DC

They are also opening another location in VA (I think Tysons Corner, maybe Reston)

JFX Farmer's Market 2009

I ran in very quickly around 8:20 AM, just to check with Pea Man. He told me "3 weeks form today" but I end up checking in every time anyway.

Then I went to Curry Shack to get my West Indian patties. They weren't even setup at that point.

They had the same problem at times last year. I would swing in to get a quick order, and they were not selling yet.

I hope they start selling at a regular time this year as it is really frustrating.
