The Nosh of Beverly Hills - Pastrami

I finally made that trip to Langers. What a waste. I think the Nosh is the best.
Langers tasted more like corned beef than pastrami.

Eating with a Vegetarian Recs?

Shamshiri Grill in westwood will please any carnivore.
For the lone vegetarian they have veggie persian stews which are delicious. Meat can be added to the stew for the carnivore. Plus they can do a plate of hummus, eggplant, etc for the vegetarian.

I have to admit the menu will be limited for the SO.

The Nosh of Beverly Hills - Pastrami

I will start off by admitting that I HAVE NOT HAD LANGERS PASTRAMI. Ok now that that is out of the way. What do you guys think of the Pastrami at The Nosh in Beverly Hills.
I like my pastrami lean and hand cut and they do both really well.

This is the best I have ever had. What do you guys think?

I actually haven't been there for some time. I am hoping the pastrami is as good as it was before. And its not on the menu but they sell the meat by weight as well. The guy made me a nice pastrami platter which was a better deal that a sandwich.

Oh, Langer's...was it just me?

I've been waiting until I am remotely close to downtown to try Langers. I've read all of the reviews on this board for a long time but maybe I should wait until they get their act together.

I actually came on today to search if there was any mention of Nosh in Beverly Hills. Again I will say that I have not had Langers yet. But I love the Pastrami at Nosh. Its the best I have had. I like my pastrami lean.
Whats everyone else's opinion?

Green Olive- Commerce

I was trying to find out about a place called Green Olive in the city of Commerce.
I searched this board and people were commenting about a green olive restaurant that closed. I am assuming it was in brenwood.
I was looking at Menu's on sporq and came across a menu for Green Olive in commerce that has a location in Brentwood. It sounds like the brentwood location is the one that closed

Anyone know if the one in commerce is still around? I guess I could call them.
Hows the food? ambiance?

Thanks.

Maggie's Bakery in North Hollywood

There pastries are delicious, beautiful and inexpensive. I love the place.

They also have meat stuffed dough called pierashkies that are delicious as well. Not something you would expect at a bakery but I pick some up for a quick bite when I am there.

The strip mall it is in is a parking disaster. The armenian girls that work the counter are super friendly but barely speak english. But who cares. Just point at what you want.

LA for 4 days--Vegetarian friendly

For indian try India's Sweet And Spices. They have several locations Google them

Another category not on your list that I would suggest is Persian. Try Shamshiri Grill on westwood. They have several vegetarian persian stews. If you have never had it you should try one.

Griddle Cafe

I have eaten at the Griddle Cafe twice years ago. And both times gotten the "secret" french toast basically just coffee cake french toast. It is very good.

The first time the waiter just got it for us. The second time they put up a fight when we asked for it without knowing the password. The owner was there and she allowed it, and gave us a order of the regular french toast on the house. I have friends coming into town and dont want to deal with the argument again.

Does anyone know the password? Mind sharing?

What else is good there? Everything looks delicious.

Vote for the best Hole-In-The-Wall (Michelin-style)

shamshiri is good stuff.

I love the beef soltani. But the best deal on the menu there is the shwarma.

Gangadin Indian Cuisine report (long) in Studio City

I was about to start a post about good indian food in town.
While for cheap vegetarian one of my favorites is Indias Sweet and spic on venice I like my chichen Tikka.

I tried Curry hurry or was it Hurry Curry kind of reminiscent of Curry in a Hurry in NYC. I was hoping for the same delicious food. EVERYTHING i got was so bland and rice was over cooked.
There are a ton of Indian places on Venice in the culver area. Any of them any good?

Any really good Indian buffets you guys recommend?

I am mostly looking for places on the Westside closer to UCLA but am willing to take a drive for something fabulous.
