Looking for great pot roast recipe
I'm planning on making pot roast for Rosh Hashannah. Does anyone have a fantastic recipe? I've tried a bunch of different variations in the past, but none that really wowed me. Thanks in advance!
Disappointing meal at Pava, Newton
Went to Pava for dinner tonight and was very disappointed. I had wanted to try it for quite some time, especially given the largely positive reviews on this board. Tuna appetizer was miniscule and way overpriced given it wasn't even that tasty. Tried both the pizza bianco and the papardelle with beef short ribs. The pizza was very greasy and quite bland. The pasta was okay, though nothing special. It had very little actual meat in it, and all of the flavors were overpowered by the omnipresent asparagus. Overall, the meal did not live up to expectations, and I would not return. What have other people's experiences been recently?
Best Fish & Chips in the metro Boston area
I'm looking to take my husband out for his birthday this week and he loves fish & chips. Any recommendations for the best in the metro-Boston area? Nothing too greasy with extra heavy batter. Just looking for fresh fish with a nice crust and good flavor. Thanks in advance!
How long does mascarpone cheese last?
I purchased some mascarpone cheese last week and the container doesn't have an expiration date. How long does mascarpone typically last in the refrig? I've never cooked with it before so I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.
Can swiss steak be used for stirfry?
Since my butcher didn't have any skirt steak, I purchased swiss steak instead. Can swiss steak be cut up and cooked in the wok as a stirfry dish or does it not work well in this fashion?

Mexican crema is what I'm looking for. Are the jarred versions typically high quality? I'm fine using them in a pinch, but I'd also love to have a recipe of my own that I can make when I want something fresher.
