Sophie Mae's Peanut Brittle anywhere in T.O.?
Hi Afed, thanks for replying...I just got word by e-mail from the George Nut Company, which makes Sophie Mae's, that it's distibuted in Canada at Dollarama. It's sold in bags, as opposed to in boxes in the U.S. Anyway, I'll be heading to Dollarama when I'm next in T.O. to pick up some caramelized Brittle -- yeah!!
PS: I just checked Google, and Walgreens and Rite Aid doesn't have stores in Canada.
Cheers,
RS

OK, I return to the subject of those dastardly brittles, lol. I don't necessarily need the Sophie Mae brand, but just brittles in a box. (You know, the caramelized type.) Can anybody recommend a brand and its availability in Toronto? Please let us know =)
'50s looking diner in Toronto?
Just wondering -- any diners you can think of which have kept that original '50s look, with the long counters, and red seats, and good wholesome fare?
List of eateries -- your opinions? (Good/average/score out of 10.)
Thanks for all the replies, folks...really appreciated all your opinions. The ratings are great to know, too, so I know which eateries to prioritize, and which not to! I'm living in nordic Europe right now (Finland, in fact), so that's why I also asked about the U.S. franchises' N.Y. Fries and Taco Bell, since we have neither here, lol. So I thought what the heck, on my next visit to T.O., why not also try them out (:-D) whilst I'm in North America.

Thanx, chocabot...you're right about tourtière -- it wasn't the restaurant's name, but actually the food I wanna try on my next T.O. visit :), lol. Anybody know where I can get it from in Toronto, like in a deli/whatever? Also, btw, when did Co Yen shut?

Thanx, deelicious, for the search tip. Hadn't thought about that, duh. Nice one! Btw, when did "Young Thailand" close, and why -- anybody know?

Sophie Mae's Peanut Brittle anywhere in T.O.?
When I say "Trono" (local resident pronunciation), I mean Toronto, or T.O, as I use interchangeably in my posts :)
So, any info, folks, on those Brittles?
Quick question -- do T.O. grocery stores still have those big brown paper bags for groceries?
Hey there, I was just wondering for small to medium purchases, at grocery stores, whether you have the choice in T.O. Me, I usually pick paper here in nordic Europe, because of its better recycling properties. I think I'll check out Whole Foods in Trono when I next visit. Cheers for the reply!

A quick qu. -- or do grocery stores now only have plastic?
Cheers,

Sophie Mae's Peanut Brittle anywhere in T.O.?
Hey folks, just joined. Hi to all! This looks like a great site for foodies. Me, I'm hungry, lol, and wondering where, following my next trip to Trono, I can buy Sophie Mae's Peanut Brittle? The name of the store would be great. I'm just wondering whether it'll be available at a Walmart, Loblaws, etc.?
If, for some reason, it's not available in Trono, does Ontario or any of the other provinces have their own brand of Peanut Brittles in a box? If yes, please let me know the brand names.
PS. I understand Sophie Mae, now owned by the Georgia Nut Co., is out of Atlanta.
