Rustic Canyon - Santa Monica
I ate there last weekend. Very high quality of ingredients, nice preperation and extensive wine list. A bit pricey.
Santouka - West LA
I went at 11:30 day. I received a free ticket, which must be used before Jan 31st. I got the shio ramen and found the quality to be equal to that of the Torrance location. I even recognized one of the chefs from Torrance (must have brought him over for the launch).

Review - Lupa (170 Thompson St)
This place offers some very simple and well prepared Italian dishes. The cacio e pepe and bucatini all'amatriciana are both steller.

The Gehry Design Center - Delicious
I work in the gehry center. This place is poor on all levels. It does have decent frozen yogurt and smoothies, but besides that it is a small step above cafeteria slop.
SPICE MARKET

Lamb Birthday Dinner for 5
I am looking for a great food experience for a birthday dinner of 5. There needs to be at least one vegetarian option on the menu. Lamb dishes are a plus.
Thanks.
4 Days in NY
My dad is from Queens, but hasn't been back to NY for a while.
I am looking to take him to some of the best eats in NY, at least one in Queens. Di Fara and Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station are locked in. Any other places of note that aren't too expensive?
I will be in need of one Italian dinner for 5, looking for simple, fresh and authentic home style Italian and I am willing to pay a price if its worth it.
Thanks.

Katsu-ya
no matter is Katsu is there or not the quality of the fish wont matter. it will be so over sauced you wont even taste it. this place is run of the mill sushi joint thinly shrouded by lights and decor. enjoy the velvet rope at the brentwood location. if your brother actually likes food i'd go somewhere else...
Sprinkles on La Cienega?

SUSHI ZO is stellar
After reading multiple posts about this place I decided to give it a try tonight.
I must say I was very impressed as were all of the other patrons who were dining there.
The omakase course took my taste buds through a wonderous trip of the many flavors and consistancies which the ocean has to offer. There must have been about 15 different kinds of fish, a few of which I had never had before. The orange clam and the white shrimp were both awe inspiringly new and tasty. The chef is a nice departure from the rude purists and the boisterous blow hards. He is simple and refined just like the cuisine he is preparing. I urge anybody who is a fan of great sushi to try this place.
