Indianapolis - what do you recommend?

I've started to travel to Indianapolis regularly for work so I'm looking for chow worthy options! I'm on the northeast side of the city but can go anywhere for anything at any price, just looking for a worthwhile meal.

Anaheim recs near Knott's Berry Farm

Reporting back: We had Pinks outside the park for lunch. I hadn't eaten at a Pinks before so I can't compare. Convenient if you're on your way into the park. I had the polish spicy - pretty good, although my stomach was a little unsettled on all those rollercoasters!

We had some ok drinks at the bar at the Knott's Hotel and then had the Amber Waves all you can eat. I thought it was TERRIBLE. Part of it was the awful fishy smell that surrounded the entire buffet from the crab legs. I thought they smelled - and tasted - less than fresh. Other choices were meh - spaghetti and meatballs, mashed potatoes, limp salad bar, ok pie. I didn't have the prime rib, so I can't vouch for that. I think for $25, I would definitely go somewhere else next time.

Anaheim recs near Knott's Berry Farm

We are heading to Knott's Berry Farm this weekend and staying at the hotel there. Looking for somewhere decent near there for dinner between the time the park closes at 5pm and reopens for the Scary Farm at 7:30. High to low isn't an issue, close is best, probably not more than 15 minutes in any direction. 4 Adults.
Thanks!

Mid-week, moderately priced dinner for 10 scientists in San Diego/Gaslamp

These are great choices - I'll report back in December with the choice and the review!

Mid-week, moderately priced dinner for 10 scientists in San Diego/Gaslamp

Thanks all, very helpful. I'd like to keep it around $20 per person w/o alcohol. Probably not a typical chowhound stance but I'm not looking for a stellar, memorable culinary adventure, just not terrible. We live in SD but generally avoid the gaslamp. The few forays I've had to make from the convention center to grab a bite without any preplanning were horrifically, comically, startlingly, how-is-this-place-in-business? bad, which is what I'm trying to avoid. So, to refine my original post - $20 entrees, easy walking distance to the conv.center, quiet enough to talk, and on the pretty good side of not terrible.

@mcgrath - It doesn't have to be a place like that but I know what you mean and it's an apt description.

Mid-week, moderately priced dinner for 10 scientists in San Diego/Gaslamp

We're trying to find a good spot for a midweek dinner in the Gaslamp to take 10 scientists to dinner in December. Probably ethnic, as we'd like to keep costs down. Within easy walking distance of the convention center. Only real criteria is it needs to be ok for 10 people whose tastes we don't really know (although most are university professors and are generally ok with standard ethnic) and that the set up be quiet enough that people can talk.

We're considering:

Red Pearl Kitchen
Chopahn
RoyalThai
Royal India - read some not-so-great things on this board, ??, but indian would probably be a safe choice.
Banndar

I'd love to hear your recommendations.

San Diego Little Italy Recommendations?

Thanks - I had a feeling there was a reason there wasn't much Little Italy activity on the boards!

San Diego Little Italy Recommendations?

Fairly new to the area and went to the San Diego Little Italy Farmers Market this weekend. There are so many restaurants, I'm assuming some of which aren't so great. So, what are good places to eat in Little Italy? Anything from sandwiches to dinner... what's worthwhile there?

Tucson Weekend Recommendations

I'm planning a Friday - Sunday weekend trip Dec 5 - 7 to Tucson with my husband - we'll be staying at the Marriott Starr Pass Resort . I've been looking at the boards and decided I don't want to miss Cafe Poca Cosa probably for lunch on Saturday.

Are any of the restaurants at the Marriott worth considering?

I was thinking we might go to the Loft for a Saturday night movie - any restaurants near there?

Also, coffee shops that would be fun to go to on Sunday morning.... ?

We like a casual place with some atmosphere - I'm hoping for a little romance! so anywhere we could linger over dinner and just relax would be great. It would be nice if it's in a pretty location. We like any ethnic, seafood, steak... pretty flexible on the type of food, as long as it's great and relaxing atmosphere. Price isn't a huge consideration just looking for a memorable weekend.

Thanks!
