Looking for marbled rye bread in Montreal

Snowdon Bakery (7385 Avenue Harley, Montréal, QC H4B 1L5 514-481-9710) usually has it, and good dark and light rye, and very good Challah bread.

Looking for Duck Confit and Old-School Atmosphere in Montreal..

For old-school ambiance and good cocktails I recommend Taverne Square Dominion ( downtown. Duck confit is their Thursday special on their daytime menu (until 4:30, but if you call ahead they might be able to put some aside for you if you want it at dinnertime).

Montreal breakfast

I like P'tit Cochon Santé ( 4293 Notre-Dame west), especially the buckwheat crepes with ham, brie and apple. It comes with an egg and greens with a zesty vinaigrette.

Expanding Montreal’s Third Wave Coffee Scene

I would put Café Shaika (5526 Sherbrooke Street West in NDG a little west of Decarie) in the same category as Café 92°.
