Sobe's Profile
Zagat South Florida's New Rankings are up
Nobu, Bond St, Tuscan Steak, China Grill. The patio at Ago could be a good call.
5 Days in Vegas - help fill in the blanks
Frod, this months Travel and Leisure magazine has a guide to Vegas and lists Bubble Bar as among the better values in town. It appears you can get 4 plates for $40.
The very best of Miami Beach?
If I were visiting from out of town I would do Joe's for Stone Crab's for dinner one night or go to the take out portion next door for lunch. For the second night I would recommend Nobu, Talula, Table 8, Sardinia and Prime 112. I like Blue Door at the Delano but it gets mixed reviews on the board. I'd also recommend Bond St. for Sushi and AltaMar for seafood/fish in a more casual atmosphere than the typical South Beach scene.
Breakfast I would recommend Front Porch on Ocean or Ice Box just off Lincoln Road. Balans on Lincoln is another option for breakfast.
Check out Puerta Sagua for a Cuban lunch. Again, if you don't do Joe's for dinner I would head over for lunch.
Never been to Tamara at the National.
Maison d'Azur (SoBe)
Great report. AltaMar is my go-to place on the beach for fish but looking forward to trying something new. Nice to hear about good service on South Beach.
SOBE Dinner - Loved Talula... what's next?
If you are looking to stay on South Beach I would recommend Sardinia and Table 8. Do a quick search and you will find plenty of threads on both.

What are you buying right now?
Frod, which Melville do you like? I recently bought a couple of the 05 Estate's but have not opened one yet.
Maison d'Azur (SoBe)
ok, Chef Le Pape is a protege of Anthony Bourdain and was the executive chef of the Les Halles restaurants and cooked at Django. (NYC) Looks like his last stop was European Union (aka EU)in Manhattan. Is anyone familiar with him? TP?
Maison d'Azur (SoBe)
Has anyone ventured over to Maison d'Azur at the Angler's Hotel?
Blurb in Velvet Underground's column today
"Instead, there's Maison d'Azur, another Casa Tua-esque seafood brasserie with a fabulous French accent but surprisingly little attitude. The food is stellar and the vibe is very St. Tropez" http://www.miamiherald.com/275/story/308585.html

Stone Crabs . Ft. Lauderdale
Not sure about Ft Lauderdale but you could do Billy's in Hollywood. They have an all you can eat deal....

Edit
3030 Ocean doesn't specialize in stone crabs but it is a great restaurant and they have stone crabs.

2 nights, 2 dinners Fort Lauderdale
Funny, I was going to recommend Martorano initially but deleted it b/c of the "girls night" thing. Seems more like a guys night out place to me. Regardless, I'm a fan and they serve great comfort Italian food plus it is a fun place.
OP, if you are into that I would go with Johnny V and Martorano.
**BlindMind is correct. The meatball app is a must do**

Breakfast/Brunch Las Olas?
I like Noodles and Panini too. Great meatballs. I also like doing lunch at Johnny V's. Not sure about breakfast or brunch spots though.

Evolution closed...indefinitely...
"David Bouley Evolution, which opened a year ago just in time for a throng of Art Basel Miami Beach parties, has closed, but only temporarily, says the star chef whose name is on the marquee.
'It is going to be settled this week and a new operating group with much more restaurant experience is taking over,' Bouley said in a telephone interview Monday."

Cero @St Regis (Lauderdale)
Ventr4th, how can you even mention Bonefish and Cero in the same post?? You can't be serious. Cero is a sophisticated restaurant with an innovative menu. It should be noted that 3 of the 4 dishes you had are not on the regular menu. Additionally, you end your post by saying your meal was mediocre BUT earlier you stated that both appetizers "were great" and that the pork chop "was a large portion and cooked perfectly" Thus, you really liked 3 of 4 dishes. Not sure that qualifies as mediocre.
Anyway, we opted for the dine out menu tonight and it was good but not as great as the regular menu we had last time. Only one dish on the dine out meu is actually on the regular menu. Not sure why restaurants do that. That said we tried the scallops with truffle polenta again tonight and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Just a great dish. However, the squash risotto with truffles was just okay. The risotto was cooked correctly but lacked something. It's not on the regular menu though. The tuna sashimi with jalepeno gelee and wasabi rice foam was very good. The pancetta wrapped pumpkin swordfish was over salted for my taste. The key lime lolipops were great as were the nutella filled beignets off the regular menu. Looking forward to trying some more items on the regular menu. On a side note, the place was packed on a Tuesday night.
2 nights, 2 dinners Fort Lauderdale
Sunfish is good but I disagree on Blue Moon and Barton G. Both are mediocre at best
THE WORLD Market in Hollywood`
Two different places. World Market is out west in Pembroke Pines. I agree that it is a fun place for food and wine.
OP, never been inside the place you are talking about but know the area and assume it is E. European. There is a Eurpoean bakery next store

Top Chef @Grass 11/15
* Grass is in Miami* Sorry about that. The edit feature is not working today
Top Chef @Grass 11/15
Howie "I hope he wears a headband" Kleinberg will be guest chef at Grass this Thursday.
From Miami Herald
"Kleinberg is the first of a series of guest chefs who will cook at the restaurant's new monthly event. Cost is $50 per person or $75 with wine."
That's all the info I could find. I'll post back if I hear more

Johnny V's on Las Olas is probably your best bet. Himmarshee ,Trina and Canyon are also options but not sure I'd classify any of them as unusual. Opa is an option if you like Greek food and want to party too.

miami- tuesday night lincoln road pasta?
Beat the clock at Tiramisu? Where the price depands on the time. $5 at 5pm $6 at 6 etc. I haven't taken advantage in a while bit think they still do it. I like the pasta at Tiramisu especially at those prices..Also best service on Lincoln Road. Spris and Le Bon are same owners with same deal.
Poutine in Florida
You are correct. Dairy Belle sells it. They have great ice cream as well. Hard to find on the circle but you should find some on the Broadwalk. That said, try Dairy Belle. Not my thing but it is the real deal. They also have Chicago and Michigan stle dogs.

Michael's Genuine - Miami Design District
Do we have confirmation that she is actually the pastry chef there now? I know she was a consultant but was unaware of additional involvement. I was there last week and didn't notice a change in the menu.
Michael's Genuine - Miami Design District
Yes, she was on iron chef with Michelle B.
