Barnaby's Pizza

I think this link from "Slice" gives a very accurate view of Pizza in Chicago. Villa Nova is very good and Pat's is very good for thin crust

I have seen them at Tony's at Harlem avenue and 24th street in North Riverside. They are in the produce section

Suggestions for dinner with future French in-laws

I think one thing that is not widely available in France in grilled or barbeque foods. That would be my suggestion based on input from my French friends

Lunching in the Loop

I am wondering if somone can help rivive my memory. Within the last couple of years I went to a small diner located on LaSalle between Randolph and Adams that felt very old and basic. I entered the diner off of LaSalle and walked through the ground floor corridor of a building and the diner was located in the middle of the building not visible from the street. Does this ring a bell to any of the local loop hounds?

NY Style Pizza in Oak Park Area

If you are looking for New York style pizza near Oak Park, I have two suggestions.

River Pizza - Lake Street and Thatcher Avenue - The sausage is amazing
Villa Nova - Actually in Berwyn on Pershing between Oak Park avenue and Harlem
In the city, I would suggest Coalfire which is on Grand Avenue in the 1300 block

Great butcher near Oak Park?

the Villager is definately your choice. The next closest is a butcher shop on Addison Street between Oak Park Avenue and Harlem. They are about the same in quality as Villager

Best Restaurants in Oak Park?

I would suggest Hemmingways Bistro on Oak Park Avenue as being the only restaurant in Oak Park worthy of this board. A new mexican restaurant just opened in OP and it is just average, I would say the same about the new sushi place on lake street. An alternative is Forest Park which has some good restaurants and bars. Go with Hemmingways and you wont be disappointed

Chicago This Weekend - In From San Jose

http://www.maystreetmarket.com/

Instead of Fogo, I would try any one of the above three restaurants. Quartino is in the gold coast and the other two are within 5-10 minute taxi ride. I would also think about Gene & Georgettis for steak but I agree with the suggestions made so far. Frontera Grill would be a good choice especially since you are from San Jose. Enjoy the city but bring your winter coats

destination dining and lodge an hour or so from chicago

That's an easy one - The American Club in Kohler Wisconsin. It is two hours away but worth every minute

Good Lunch Spot Near ORD (Rosemont-Cumberland Area)?

I have been a fan of Basilico's on Cumberland for a number of years. Sinatra like Italian food but very good, conversation friendly, great bread and nice people

Best Pizza with cracker-type crust?

Bertoli's Pizza on Lake Street/Thatcher in River Forest is your answer. Request it to be Crispy and it will be very good and very thin.

Blood Oranges/Juice - where to find them?

I would try Caupuo's on Harlem Avenue. It is north of Grand and usually has a good selection of blood oranges from italy
