WHO HAS THE BEST PIZZA IN L.A. AND WHY?

I don't know what you are talking about, I eat all types of Asian and non-Asian food in the SGV. Not sure why you are so hung up on race

WHO HAS THE BEST PIZZA IN L.A. AND WHY?

What does Vince's spaghetti have to do with Petrillo's pizza other than a straw man approach?

WHO HAS THE BEST PIZZA IN L.A. AND WHY?

No, it exists because they have been making great pizza for over 50 years, and despite your attempt to make this a racial thing, I have seen plenty of Asians dining there over the years

The Pastrami List 2014

Yum, I alternate between Langer's excellent rye and Kaiser rolls on my No. 1s there

Who do you follow on the Los Angeles board, and why?

My follow list is on my profile but would like to especially thank Porthos for his thoughtful and insightful posts and photos. I think we have similar tastes in places. I also really like how eloquent Porthos writes without having to resort to profanity or incomprehensible abbreviations to try to sound "cool." Classy, great writing is getting harder to come by these days.

Bucatini

Il Fico on Robertson has it often, and their pastas are fantastic, fresh made in-house

Where do you do your healthy eatin' in LA?

I should also add the funny-named Cabbage Patch. As I write this I'm munching on a very tasty French lentil salad with avocado and arugula

FiveThirtyEight says LA has worse burritos than SD AND SF.

Not really an attack, I'm just not concerned with this particular person's burrito tastes or more importantly, any type of "analyses" based on Yelp

Most blogs are simply vanity projects for people who think they are writers. That being said, I don't really trust the burrito preferences of someone originally from Lansing, MI anyway

He might be good at baseball and election statistics, but don't quit your day job just yet, Nate

Buttermilk baked chicken sandwich at Lemonade

I like Lemonade, particularly their broccoli salad with ricotta. They used to have another good sandwich with that buttermilk chicken breast and pimento cheese, but sadly no longer offer

obscure indian foods

If you are ever in the San Gabriel Valley, give the gyros at Pharo's Burgers in Alhambra a try. They are Greek-owned and make a good version of the Americanized gyro

George's Greek offer that processed gyro style, as do most self-billed "Greek" places in Los Angeles

Unpleasant experience at Bestia

At their price range, a rude hostess is not acceptable. There is nothing to indicate on their menu it is family style – not cool to enforce something like that at the last minute

101 noodle express

I know exactly what you mean about their dan dan noodles. The first time I tried them there wasn't too fond, but now I crave them regularly

TonyC's Definitive Guide To San Gabriel Valley Dining

Yes, there are plenty non-Asians and Von's is still in SGV. As of the 2010 Census, there were over 1 million non-Asians in SGV. There is nothing definitive about this guide

obscure indian foods

There is nothing authentically Greek about that style of gyro, i.e., the preformed frozen cone of processed meat. Gyros in Greece use unprocessed meat, sort of like Mexican al pastor style

Breakfast burritos near colleseum

Indeed. I've known about the tortilla situation here for years. My grandmother is from Zacatecas and our family is so spoiled by her amazing cooking, we do not bother with most Mexican restaurants in LA

Breakfast burritos near colleseum

Yes, I am familiar with and love Yucatecan cuisine. Was in Yucatán las month and had amazing (and super cheap) cochinita and breakfast tacos unlike any you find in Los Angeles

Lunch between Pasadena & Riverside?

Next to Eureka in Claremont there is an understated wine shop with good food called Packing House Wine Merchant. Had a very enjoyable Mother's Day dinner there recently and liked the relaxed vibe

They have great wedge and caprese salads and good tapas-style plates for sharing over wine

US Sriracha factory may close

Unless maximizing profit and reducing costs are secondary concerns to CEOs, that opinion is not changing

US Sriracha factory may close

Of course the CEO would never say anything to offend any potential customers in California, but the tax and cost situation in this state were certainly big factors despite the PR spin.

Is Settebello pizza special?

I think Settebello is overrated. I tried the Pasadena location once (had the margherita) and thought it was bland and I wasn't a fan of the bready/soggy crust, regardless of how authentically Neapolitan it supposedly is
