While I've had fantastic meals in fancy restaurants, some of the best meals have been on the street: Pho in Hanoi, Khao Soi in Chiang Mai, Nasi Campur in Bali, Hoi An Chicken Rice in Hoi An... Basically whenever I find something so ridiculously authentic the recipe is several generations old, it ends up being one of the best things ever.
My current drink of choice:
I really wish I could:
have everything I eat go into some external stomach so I can basically just never stop eating. And never have to work out...
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Chicken with Cardamom rice from Ottolenghi's Jerusalem - fragrant, delicious, (relatively) easy...
My favorite comfort food:
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Too hard to pick favorites, but these are some of the most memorable meals I've had in a restaurant (though I've had some street food that could also make the list...)
1. Attimo (Sao Paulo, BR)
2. Mozaic (Bali, IND)
3. Tetsuya's (Sydney, AU)
4. Aziza (SF, CA, USA)
5. Din Tai Fong (Taipei/Shanghai/Asia in general)
My most tattered cookbooks:
The New Best Cookbook by Cooks Illustrated, Jerusalem (Ottolenghi), Into the Vietnamese Kitchen (Andrea Nguyen), How to Cook Everything (bittman)
