marscapone, whipped cream

I just wanted to lighten up the taste abit.

I live in the L.A. area and I can get Manufacturers cream at either Smart & Final, or Restaurant Depot. Do you have access to these or Susco?

marscapone, whipped cream

I am making a dessert with basmati, port wine cherries and I wanted to serve it with a lightened up marscapone. Can I fold manufacturers cream and whipped marscapone together, with a little sugar, ? do I whip them separately or can I just mix them together and then whip....equal parts?
Thanks for any input

Las Fuentes - Carne Asada, Al Pastor or Carnitas

My favorite thing to get at Las Fuentes is not on the menu....Its called Carne a laTampaquena, which is a nice portion of carne asada with grilled pasillas and onions and corn, as well as a Mole Enchilada, and of course rice and beans. It costs around $10.00.
Delicioso!

Dilemma

Two of us are splurging for pre concert birthday celebration.... Want delicious, but not fussy or formal, good meal. If necessary, I am willing to go up to $100.00 per, but want to feel it was well worth it.
I'm considering Prov., AOC, or Angelini O., never been to any of them. Suggestions?
Thanks very much.

Who makes the best cookies?

One of my all time favorites for cookies has always been
B & L's on 3rd and Corning. Classic old style that you can still tate the butter in. Monaco Kisses....yum!

Mexican in the Valley

I can recommend 2 that I feel are wayyyy better:
Sol y Luna (owned by the Las Fuentes family) in Tarzana, on Ventura Blvd.
and
El Patron on Reseda Blvd, also in Tarzana, across from the Gelsons.

good baked potatoes?

Believe it or not, Red Lobster (Iknow its a chain!)does a very good baked potato. They don't wrap it in foil, but rub it with kosher salt and it comes out pretty crispy.
