Help me find this Dim Sum Restaurant!!!

thanks so much for trying, everyone. i really appreciate your help. your replies helped me at least narrow down the streets. we will go and try to find it when we're in SF tomorrow. i realize there are so many of these dim sum places, but this was the one my spouse and i went to on our first trip to SF when we got married. so we'd like to go back to it for old times sake.

i think there was a small market diagonally cross the street. when walking up the hill from the parking lot, the restaurant is on the right hand side. the place wasn't very big. one story. maybe seats 100 at the most? it had a large double door entrance w/ ring handles, and a statute of something next to it. does that help anyone?

xiao yang, any place at california and grant that you'd recommend?

darn, i went on Imperial Palace website and this is not the place. Yimster, i believe you and i are thinking of the same place. thanks for the cross streets. i'll just go and rely on my spidey sense rather than my spotty memory. thanks y'll!

Help me find this Dim Sum Restaurant!!!

it's in Chinatown. i don't remember the name or the street it was on!!! but had some really great dim sum years ago and would like to go there again on our visit to SF this week. they had carts, har gao was the best i've ever had, and the interior was nothing to write home about. the price was real cheap. the two of us ate for under $20. urgh! but can't remember the name of the place!

i just remember parking at an underground parking lot near Bank of America, walking up about a block. i want to say part of the name was either Jade or Emerald. but i'm not too sure!
if i see the name or the building, i'm sure i'll remember. anyone wanna help trigger my memory?

Pasadena - large group

I'm searching for a place to hold a luncheon for a large group of about 30 people, including children. I would like to keep it at $10 -15 per person. Anyone ever have a large party at Saladang? I'm open to any and all suggestions. TIA!

Looking for a cafe between Newport and La Mirada

i'm not too familiar with OC. i have a meeting next week with a someone that lives in newport beach. i will be coming from La Mirada.

we'll both probably grab a drink and maybe order some pastries. a quiet cafe would be nice, but not a must. noise level should be tolerable as we will be meeting for about an hour. must be able to grab a seat quickly with a table large enough to sign some papers. easy to find and close to freeway a plus.

anyone know of any place that would be a mid way point for us? somewhere in long beach? or even in anaheim off the 5 freeway? TIA!

ALL You Can Eat Korean BBQ?

where is Mu Dang San and Soot Bul Gui Rim? 1 or 2...

i frequent Ma Dang Sae on vermont. pretty good. they recently re-did their interior and hiked up the price to $16.99. the meat was better this time. they used to make kimchi fried rice for you at the end of the meal, but that's gone now.

Where can i host a baby shower luncheon for 70?

more than waffles in encino has a back room. i don't know if it'll fit 70 people, but you can do breakfast for around $15 per person. most of their dishes are under $9. the food is great there, the environment is definitely warm, and your guests will also have plenty of parking (free).

Leda's Bakery: Any tips?

two bites and i'm in love. i'm thinking about ordering about 80 mini-cupcakes for an upcoming party. i could use some advice. i've only been there twice and feel like a novice when it comes to ordering.
anyone order large quantities w/ them before?

1/3 of our guests will be children, so i figure i'd go the cupcake route for $120 vs. ordering a fancy cake. i want to display them on tiered platters and use them as table centerpieces. not sure if it'll fly. i've never seen this done before. anything you know about the place would be helpful! TIA!

K-Town restaurant to take the folks?

my husband and i will be taking both sets of parents out to dinner tomorrow night. we're looking for a nice, but not too fancy korean restaurant with excellent food AND service with good parking. no hole-in-the-wall places...korean BBQ would be nice, but not a must. What would you recommend?

i've read a lot about Park's BBQ, but i have no idea what the ambiance is like. can someone enlighten me? would that be a good place for the folks? TIA!
