NOLA long weekend, please review itinerary, am open to suggestions

TaTee -- I called Irene's and they have availability at 5:30 p.m. The person who made the reservation thought we would be able to make it at that time even though our flight arrives at 4:15. I left the K-Paul reservation at 7, in case we don't make it to the FQ in time for Irene's.

Thank you for the info about Irene's. I have never had turtle soup! The piano player in the bar sounds really nice.

I like the idea of the .25 martinis and cosmos and the fact that I could make a reservation. So, I am staying with Commander's.

bakery to order mom's 85th birthday cake, lake worth area

I live in Lake Worth and have tried most bakeries around. Publix has a great bakery. However, for that special something I use Carmine's. 2401 PGA Blvd #172, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410
(561) 775-0105

They have always done an excellent job for me!

Riverhouse in Palm Beach Gardens is always nice. Upstairs they take reservations.

Locally sourced food in Pensacola/Tallahassee/Orlando/Jacksonville

Joe Patti's Seafood in Pensacola has a restaurant to the right of the Seafood building - it is smaller separate building --and it is all local and fresh.

Suggestions for walk-n solo dining Sunday night please

The bar area at Mr. B's is nice and when we were there in August there were quite a few people dining there.

Thank you collardman. I love cajun/creole/southern cooking
(although I have to stay away from other's fried chicken because there is none better than my momma's and Aunt's ! They even have the family cast iron "traveling" skillet passed down from generations that it HAS to be friedd in !!) I also love Italian food and visit Italy yearly.

Thus my dilemma! My BF just lets me decide and goes along for the ride!

My BF and I arrive next Thursday afternoon and leave Sunday afternoon.

We both have been to NOLA before, this is a birthday celebration for my BF. I grew up in the South, and he is from England. Last trip, in August 2013 we had an excellent meal at Emeril's and Mr. B's. Both of us had not been to NOLA in many, many years. Now, we can hardly wait to return!

So far, I have narrowed it down to the following:

Thursday night -- K-Paul's or should I try and switch to Irene's - I can't
make up my mind
Friday lunch - Commander's Palace -- or should we try instead Galatoire's
Friday night - NOLA
Saturday lunch - I thought Cochon Butcher
Saturday night - Kermit Ruffins at 7 p.m. so we will eat at Little Gem Saloon
Sunday jazz brunch - Arnaud's before we leave town.

Thanks so much for any input. We enjoy all types of food.
We loved the Carousel Bar -- that is definitely making the list again!
