New Lay's sunflower oil potato chips
I agree that I can't taste much of a difference in sunflower vs. original. And I don't think there's much to the "recipe" - it's literally potatoes, oil and salt, just a different kind of oil. Agree with lvecch - taste change is minimal (if at all) and it's a good change if it's no sat fat.
The Orchard, Mas (Farmhouse), August, Salt, Applewood - which one?
August is so warm and inviting but can be crowded and a bit loud. Applewood is the same but quieter. I've only eaten at the bar at Mas but it was tremedous.
The onion tart at August is sublime. I have heard that the garden is pretty great at August as well (I've only been in winter months). Good luck!
Tempo Presto on 7th Ave. (Park Slope)
I just moved to the Slope and I'm really curious about this place. What is it? Just Italian? Is it casual? I read reviews in NY mag and citysearch but still don't have a great feel for it. Guess I will give it the old college try but just wondering others thoughts.
Can I find Rotel in New York?
I haven't been able to find it. I've used the plain ol' chilies that come in a can and it was nowhere near as good.
mingt, I like your queso version! will def give that a try.
You can also order Ro-tel here - http://www.texmex.net/Order/Order.htm
BYOB in Brooklyn?
I know Olive Vine locations in Park Slope. Anywhere else? With or without corkage fees?
