Pantages theatre eats-question re:Prix Fixe at Wood and Vine or any other great deals?

Getting ready to go see Book of Mormon next week at the Pantages with two foodies and a vegetarian who prefers vegan. I've read the old threads on eating near the Pantages and because of that am now between Cleo, Off Vine and Wood and Vine if we want to eat within walking distance. I'm pretty much scratching off Hungry Cat because although it sounds good there's not a lot there for the vegetarian. Also a little worried about recent bad reviews on Yelp about all three previously mentioned choices. Also noise level at Cleo sounds pretty bad for conversation before the show. All of us are well past the clubbing stage of our lives :)

But we are driving up from parts south and while it would be fun to be within walking distance of the theater it's not 100% necessary. Knowing the proximity of K-town to the theater I was wondering if there's a great Korean recommendation nearby.

Also I saw a note on a thread about a prix fixe pre theater meal at Wood and Vine but there's nothing about it on their website. Anyone done that or know more? Are there any other great deals to be had nearby? We're going on a Tuesday and while we want good food as part of what we hope to be a memorable night, price is also a concern. Are there any great deals?

Thanks,

Next few days in SD, staying in Old Town, foodies need recs

I'm heading to San Diego for the next couple of days, staying in Old Town and would like some recs for moderate/reasonably priced but good food in that area and/or in downtown. gaslamp since we'll be out that way too. We're both foodies and are open to different cuisine types, Asian, Mexican, etc. - and we're interested in more casual rather than fine dining options. Not really interested in nightlife spots, but we'll go to one if the food is great. Food trucks are also an option if there are some good ones in SD, but we're there for a convention and can't really chase them too far.

Thanks!

Source for Shaoxing wine in or near Thousand Oaks?

I need a bottle of Shaoxing wine for a recipe and don't want to drive to the closest 99 Ranch market which is nearly an hour away. Anyone know a market near this area that carries Shaoxing Wine?

ISO recipe for Chinese Five Spice Boiled Peanuts

I'm looking for a recipe for Chinese Boiled Peanuts- these are available pre-made in some Chinese supermarkets like 99 Ranch or are served in Northern-style Chinese restaurants as a snack or appetizer. I used to make this all the time but lost the recipe- I know it had Chinese five-spice powder, sugar, salt, and raw peanuts but can't remember if that was everything and in what quantities.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
