Good chow around St. John's University?

My favorite place is Acquista Trattoria...amazing italian pastas and there is a room in the back for a bigger number of guests like the 20+ people. the front of the shop, is for smaller crowds. Also, Fame diner across from St.Johns is a big dinner and can could accomodate 20+ people. good typical diner food.

Another amazing pizza place is Romeo's Pizza on 188th St and Union Tpke. They have ceasar's chicken pizza and ziti pizza and garlic knots is really good. and the pasta dishes are always so good. my family always orders dinner there.

Kyoto's Sushi closer to Parsons Blvd is really good sushi and a cute atmosphere. more date-like vibe. Izumi's Sushi is smaller and across from Barnes and Nobles and is decent. Sushi Zone is good for a quick and simple sushi.

Jade King as a great Chinese restaurant around 185th and Union Tpke. it is a bigger restaurant style for sit-down food. Authentic and amazing Chinese take-out is Dave's kitchen on 188th and Union Tpke and also Seven Stars which is along Union Tpke on the very long block between Surrey Place and Avon St.

And a better Mexican/Chinese take-out is Lucky Star on 189th and Union Tpke. Yes sounds odd to have Chinese and Mexican, but the Mexican food is really good.

Sushi in Detroit?

thanks for the ideas. Ann Arbor is a bit far for me but i do travel out there for work occasionally, so i will check it out. i think i am going to be nervous to eat sushi in downtown Detroit, but i heard that Sala Thai has decent sushi and great thai food. so maybe a combo craving would be satisfied with that place.

thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming!

Seeking Small Summer Wedding Space

someone mentioned Caffe on the Green in Bayside/College Point. It has a beautiful view of the bridge and is at the end of a golf course. it is at the intersections of the Cross Island/Clearview but i don't think you would hear the traffic. I don't know about the pricing and food though.

i am going to look into it for the wedding rehearsal but ours is a big a wedding party.

Wedding/Rehearsal dinner recommendations in Queens?

thanks for all the great tips! any recent reviews of Caffe on the Green? although the view of the bridge should be worth it.

Funny you mentioned Joe Abbraciamento. one of the recent family reunion dinners was there, so that is out of the picture, but that would have been great!

thanks again and any more ideas would be welcome!

Quick and easy lunch places along Main St, Flushing?

wow... thanks for the great tips!! i hate to drive in the area since walking always seems to be quicker... and i loved that you considered prices too... lunch for $5 is more like it for me... and if there is leftovers for dinner later even better! it seems like it is going to be frigid this week so walking to warm and spicy foods might be the best thing!

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! and if there are anymore "must-try" places in the area please let me know... the project will be ending in a few months so i want to try all that i can before i leave... =)

Wedding/Rehearsal dinner recommendations in Queens?

I was thinking maybe Italian since it is such a big party. I love Asian/sushi/Chinese but the bridal party is so racially diverse that it might be better to go simpler, if that makes sense. Also any place that has good drink/wine/beer selection would be the best.

Parkside seems like a possibility but parking in Corona is always a problem.

Oh and maybe Long Island is an option too since half the bridal party is staying in hotels out there too.

Thanks for the help!
