Salami from Italy

Does anyone have an idea where to find a salami from Italy in New York? Or maybe thats just not possible for some reasons? I really checked out alot of places...Eataly, Zabar's, Citarella, Murray's etc.

Looking for bondost (Swedish cheese) in NYC

Aks here. I find the selection at the Irving Place location better than Murray's.

New Year's Eve dinner

I need to find a restaurant/venue that fits 50-something parents and 20-something kids. Should be lively and fun an not to touristy. Good food and drinks of course. Any suggestions? Totally open to location and price...

Ratte Potatoes in NYC?

The ones from Mountain Sweet Berry are very good. Very easy to find, they almost only sell patatos:-)
But their German Butterball are also very good (for everydays mashed potatos...)

Chestnuts in New York

I found what i needed at Kalustyan's. French ready-to-use vacuum sealed chestnuts. The also have canned chestnuts without sugar and the ones in jars.

Does anybody know a place where you can buy peeled frozen or cooked vacuumed chestnuts in NYC? I can only find canned chestnuts (mostly with added sugar)

Re-melting leftover cheese fondue?

I would suggest to to use it for something different the next day. At least that is what we do in Switzerland where i am from. Re-melting somehow is always a mess.

For something very simple you could do take slices of bread, put a slice of ham or whatever you like on it, cover it with some fondue (it will be easy to handle after a night in the refrigerator - and yes, put it in there) and then broil it in the oven until there is a nice brown crust on the cheese. You can play with that (put an fried egg on top...etc.)

Birthday Decision-mostly steak, red meat

Minetta Tavern's cote de boeuf is very good, yes. But also overpriced. But its Minetta Tavern.-)
I really like Strip House on 12th Street. It never dissapoints with the meat and its easy to get a reservation. For some ppl the salty crust on the meat maybe is a little to salty...

54th Street & Madison - Any recomandation for restaurants?

I need a good restaurant for dinner in this neighborhood. Can be an Asian food (every country). But also "new american" etc. would be good. No greek/italian/french.
Price range around $100-150 a person.
