Really Tasty Tomato Sauce For Stuffed Cabbage (Golabki)

sorry for the confusion - I didn't mean sauce - we just put sour cream on it and it melts :) so no recipe needed for this!

and we eat it with bread only, no side dish - it is a fulfilling dish on its own
hope this helps :)

HAND BLENDER - WHICH ONE?

I've had a Brothers one for 10 years and it is still functional - actually I bought it in a set :)

What dishes / foods do you NEVER get at restaurants?

since I know that omelettes are made form power I would never order that in a restaurant or a hotel!

Is all tahini the same?

I love halvah too :)

in my home country we never use tahini in our halvas, so you might want to experiment with that and see if you change your mind... we make it from sunflower seeds

what regards tahinis: no they are not the same! I love to buy organic, certified ones - the taste and quality can be quite different - to tell you the truth this never tasted halvah to me, but be careful add only a little as it does have a distinct taste!

Blue Cheese on Entrees: Am I the Only One Gagging?

I wouldn't put blue cheese together with meat either... but haven't tasted yet, so who knows?

Soft-ripened cheese storage

actually what people don't tell you that if you let your cheese "rotten" you get the high priced blue cheeses sold in the shops :)
Once a relative of mine told this when I visited him - he lives in a village and I couldn't believe him - until I found it out to myself!
sure you don't have to experiment with this - jsut thought it is good to know!

now back to storage: if you coat the cheese with home made butter it won't dry out and lasts for longer :)

CHOW Reviews: Harold Imports Dual-Action Potato Masher

hm. I don't like the consistency of the mashed potatoes here... I usually use a fork only instead of these 'wonders" and get better results: my mashed potato is thoroughly creamy :)

Need advice on pan to use

this has great reviews over there, I would go for it! I also think it is big enough for 3-4 people

ONE is NOT enough... IMO

hm, I had a "spring cleaning" in my kitchen not long ago and sold some stuff, so I cannot say I have too much of something - maybe wooden spoonolas :)
but I did purchase a dehydrator so here we go...

CHOW Reviews: Sur La Table Potato Ricer

you know you could put the potato pieces in your food processor, give it a go and you're ready in seconds... why look for a potato ricer?

What to serve with macaroni and cheese

roasted pepper in the oven, take the black coat off and marinade it in oil - delicious!

Really Tasty Tomato Sauce For Stuffed Cabbage (Golabki)

interesting, stuffed cabbage is a national dish for us, but would NEVER EVER put tomato sauce in it!

we serve it with sour cream :)

maybe you could try to do it next time in this way - and use only fermented cabbage leaves!

Why couldn't I get tap water in Amsterdam Restaurants?

it is not a "habit" to ask for tap water in restaurants in Europe - it sends a very bad message about you if you do so - like: why on Earth did you come in if you can't even afford to buy water

also you would not order bottled water either, but wine or juice or other beverages

Dog or Cat?

well I like both vanilla and chocolate, sweet and savory, soft and crunchy, well when it comes down to dogs I would have a dog probably - have neither :)

CHOW Reviews: Vitamix 5200 Standard

hm... Vitamix is designed to be used with a tamper - if you leave that out you get poor results

if you use the tamper you get excellent results - it's that simple :)

Buying a new food processor

I don't think you need the extra two cups really, but it is your decision

Paderno World Cuisine - UK supplier?

this link leads to the UK Amazon page where it is sold:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0...

It is called Vegetable Spiralizer there but it is the Paderno World Cuisine :) - maybe that's why you didn't find it
